NHL Same Game Parlay Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (4/29)

The Carolina Hurricanes return home tonight to attempt to close out their First Round series against the New Jersey Devils. This Eastern Conference matchup has been dominated by the Hurricanes, winning three of the first four games, while outscoring the Devils 14-7.

Last week’s +125 NHL Same Game Parlay was one leg away from cashing. The Florida Panthers’ 6-2 rout of the Tampa Bay Lightning lost under 7.5 total goals. Panthers star F Matthew Tkachuk finished with a pair of goals to hit 2+ shots on goal in regulation, while Florida’s four-goal lead was more than enough to hit their +1.5 puck line.

Tuesday's NHL SGP: New Jersey Devils vs. Carolina Hurricanes

                      (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

                      New Jersey Devils (+220) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (-275) | O/U 5.5 (+100/-122)

                      Under 7.5 Total Goals (-590)

This has been among the lowest-scoring series in the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Both goaltenders have been solid in the crease, plus each roster contains strong defensive talent and depth.

Game 4 was the first time more than five goals have been scored between the Hurricanes and Devils. During New Jersey’s first two games on the road in Raleigh, they scored two total goals, one in each outing.

The Hurricanes are dealing with an injury to starting goaltender, Frederik Andersen, which forced Pyotr Kochetkov into the crease to finish the final two periods in Game 4. Kochetkov allowed one goal on 15 shots faced and will log his first start of the series back home in a close-out scenario.

Jacob Markstrom has played well for the Devils in between the pipes. He’s got a .913 save percentage and is burdened with carrying New Jersey at times due to their anemic offense.

Ultimately, I don’t see more than seven goals scored in Raleigh tonight. Even with Kochetkov in the crease, he’s no slouch, sporting a 2.60 GAA and a 27-16 record with two shutouts. Under 7.5 total goals is a good first leg to construct our NHL Same Game Parlay.

                      Hurricanes Moneyline (-275)

Carolina was among the best teams at home in 2025. The Hurricanes dominated the Devils in both home games played this series and should be able to ride off the energy of the crowd with the ability to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals tonight.

The Hurricanes are 33-9-1 at home and they are also healthier on offense. Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho lead Carolina with five points each. No one on New Jersey has more than three points in this series, as Nico Hischier is the only multi-goal scorer for the Devils.

I don’t see how New Jersey finds a win in a hostile environment with their backs to the wall. They miss Jack Hughes badly and are also dealing with other injuries across their lineup. Markstrom has been solid but Carolina’s defense and ability to generate wins at home will be too much to overcome.

Let’s back the Hurricanes’ moneyline as heavy home favorites for the second leg of this NHL Same Game Parlay.

                      Seth Jarvis 1+ Points (-172)

Seth Jarvis has recorded a point in three of four games played this series. The Hurricanes’ F skates on the second attack line and top powerplay unit. He’s logged two goals and an assist so far, averaging more than 21 minutes of time on ice.

Jarvis has taken eight shots on goal and is one of only three Carolina players to have multiple goals against New Jersey through four games. I expect Jarvis to extend his point streak to four consecutive games during tonight’s close-out game in Raleigh.

                      NHL SGP (+133)

We’re backing the chalk in this Game 5 matchup between New Jersey and Carolina tonight for a +133 NHL Same Game Parlay. I’ve bought two goals for the first leg, taking under 7.5 total goals, which has hit in all four playoff games in this series.

For the second leg, we’ll ride the heavy favorite. Let’s back Carolina to continue playing well at home, advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals with a fourth win over the Devils.

Carolina F Seth Jarvis has been an integral piece of the Hurricanes’ offense all season and its’ stayed this way during this series. Jarvis earns plenty of opportunities and is a great finisher at the net.

Let’s back Jarvis to notch at least one point for the fourth straight game and boost our NHL Same Game Parlay to plus odds.
