Northern Kentucky vs. Houston: NCAA Tournament Same Game Parlay Picks (3/16)

Houston is very familiar with being a No. 1 seed in the tournament. They are talented on both ends of the floor and are top 11 in Adjusted Offense and Defense, according to KenPom. All season long, they proved. They are coming in with a great resume going 15-2 in games against Quad 1 & 2 teams, including a win over Oregon, Virginia, and two against Memphis. They also played Alabama very close in Tuscaloosa.

They get their tournament started by taking on Horizon League Champions Northern Kentucky.

Northern Kentucky vs. Houston

Houston -18.5 (-110)

The big question that looms over the Cougars is — what is the status of Marcus Sasser? This could be the second year in a row that the team could be without their top player for the tournament because of an injury.

Still, they shouldn’t have a problem with the Norse. Houston will dominate under boards, being top 20 in rebounds, while Northern Kentucky is just within the top 160. The Cougars like to play tough and physical, something Northern Kentucky doesn’t have the size to combat. Houston leads the country in scoring, and there’s no doubt they’ll roll through in this game.

Game Total Under 121.5 (-105)

If you’re looking for faced-paced basketball, you won’t find it here. Both teams are in the bottom ten in the pace of play, and Northern Kentucky is 264th in points scored and shoots 43% from the floor. I’d like this over if the Norse were better scorers, but that’s not the case.

Jarace Walker Over 11.5 (-115)

Whether or not Sasser plays, I still love Walker. Northern Kentucky plays small ball with Chris Brandon as the only listed non-guard that plays more than 20 minutes. He will not be able to guard J’Wan Roberts and Jerald Walker, so both of these guys should hit their prop. Walker has averaged more minutes and points.
