Northwestern Wildcats vs. Boise State Broncos

Leg 1 – Tyson Degenhart – Over 13.5 Points (-135)

Tyson Degenhart, a forward, leads the Broncos in scoring with 14.3 points per game, followed by guard Marcus Shaver Jr. (13.5) and forward Ray Rice (13.9). Down the stretch in the last five games of the season, which spans the Mountain West Tournament, Degenhart has scored 13 points or more in all five.

In a game they desperately need him to play well, I like for the sophomore to score at least 14 points.

Leg 2 – Boo Buie – Under 17.5 Points (+100)

Boo Buie propels Northwestern with a team-best 17.1 points and 4.5 assists per game as Chase Audige, a fellow guard, contributes 13.8 points per contest and 76 steals, which leads the club. Between the two, one fo them has to step up here and I think it actually is Audige.

While Buie has had stretches of strong play, the senior’s game has been up and down the past few weeks, scoring 35, 4, 20, 14, and 16 over his past five games. For me, this number is too high for a player who has been the model of inconsistency.

Leg 3 – Boise State (+105)

Northwestern beat Vanderbilt in their opening game of 2017 and battled hard against No. 1 seed Gonzaga in the second round before losing 79-73, as unbeaten Gonzaga lost to North Carolina in the championship game that year.

Yet instead of that exceptional 24-12 campaign becoming the norm, the Wildcats fell to the bottom and suffered five straight losing campaigns until rising again this year with a 21-11 record.

Boise State (24-9) has a long history of failing to perform well during March Madness. The Broncos had a record of 0-8, which includes a tournament first-round loss to Memphis by a score of 64-53.

With four losses in five games, the Wildcats struggled late in the season. Northwestern, however, defeated Purdue, the top seed, and Indiana, the fourth seed, in back-to-back games earlier in the season, much of which I believe led to this seeding.

On the other hand, Boise State is ready to remove that 0 from its win-loss record in the NCAA tournament, and I think this is the spot they get it done.
