NFL Week 18 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Patriots vs. Bills

It’s no doubt that this is the toughest game to preview of the week. The Patriots need a win to make the playoffs for a second consecutive season, and a rematch with the Bills is not out of the question, depending how other games shape out.

New England poses a threat against Buffalo defensively that not many teams can. The Patriots’ second ranked DVOA pass defense meets the Bills’ second ranked DVOA pass offense. In the previous matchup, the Patriots held Josh Allen to 223 yards in the air and only 20 yards on the ground and a near season low 2.5 yards per carry.

Mac Jones struggled in the last matchup, but the Bills pass defense has been vulnerable at moments during the season. Jones has put together two of his best performances of the season the last two weeks, by QB Rating. He’s heating up at the right time.

Buffalo still has a lot to play for with seeding, but it’s reasonable to wonder where their heads are mentally. Regardless this number is too long for a team that needs this win to get into the playoffs.
