PGA Betting Picks: Best Prop Bets for Shriners Children’s Open (2021)

Formerly known as the Las Vegas Invitational, the Shriners Children’s Open returns to Las Vegas, NV, as TPC Summerlin plays host to the Tour this weekend. Known as one of the easiest courses on Tour, the desert course consistently hosts winners in the sub -20 range, and this year should be no different.

Let’s take a closer look at a few players I have my eye on this weekend to go low.

Top-40 Finish

Matthew Wolff (-140 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
It’s been a difficult 12 months for the young Matt Wolff as the 22-year-old missed nearly as many cuts as he made last season as he dealt with a host of off-the-course issues. Many people will be soon to forget. However, he started the season with back-to-back second places, including a T2 in the US Open.

His other runner-up, a solo second, was right here at the Shriners Children’s Open, where he lost in a playoff as he should all four rounds in the 60s, including a field-low 61 on Saturday. Add in the fact he already has a top 20 under his belt this season, last weekend at the Sanderson, and I like for Wolff to ride that early momentum and confidence to secure a top-40 finish in this one.

Top-20 Finish

Scottie Scheffler (-110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
Talk about confidence and momentum. Scheffler comes into this one with a Ryder Cup to remember for the rest of his life. Picked as captain’s pick despite not having won on Tour all season, Scheffler finished the event 2-0-1 as he beat former world #1, John Rahm, in his singles match against him.

In what capped off his best season on Tour yet, Scheffler finished 2021 with 8 Top 10 finishes and #22 in the FedEx Cup rankings. Looking back over his last five results of the 2021 season before the Ryder Cup, Scheffler finished top 25 in four of them, including back-to-back top 10s in The Open Championship and WGC St. Jude Invitational.

In this one against a field that is one of the lightest he’s seen in a long time, I like for Scheffler to go low once again and find himself near the top of the board come Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas.
