PGA Betting Picks: Best Prop Bets for The 3M Open (2021)

The Tour returns stateside this week as TPC Twin Cities will play host to the 3M Open for the third time. As you would imagine following a Major, the field is light this week as most of the top talent has elected to take some time off after the grind that was the Open Championship.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at where the value remains amongst the players who have elected to play this week.

Top-20 Finish

Emiliano Grillo (+150 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Emiliano Grillo is increasingly becoming a guy who is absolutely due to win again on Tour seemingly any week. Coming in off a T12 last week at the Open Championship, Grillo was in contention come Sunday before Morikawa ran away with it and should come into this one as confident as he’s ever been.

The metrics tell a similar success story.

Over his last 24 rounds, Grill ranks #2 in the field on Opportunities Gained and #1 in Strokes Gained: Approach. With his strong play at the British, he’s also moved into #1 in Par-4 scoring, a metric that should no doubt play well for him this week at TPC Twin Cities.

Finishing T3 here in his debut appearance last year, I expect a similar result from Grill, and to find him near the top of the leaderboard comes Sunday.

Top-30 Finish

Cameron Davis (+138 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

At plus money, Cam is a must-play here for me to finish this week inside the top 30. Having made the cut four of his last time fives out, Davis is coming in on rest have not played the British. Winning the Rocket Mortgage classic following a three-way playoff just a few weeks ago, Davis got that first career win out of the way, and I expect him to continue to find the leaderboard and be in contention the rest of the summer.

On a course similar to that of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, with birdie and eagle opportunities rampant, Davis comes in ranking 21st in birdies and 4th in eagles.

When we last saw him at this event, Davis finished 12th, shooting in the 60s all four days to finish the event -14. Not only has he taken significant strides in his game since, but he’ll be competing against one of the weaker fields of the season, and I look for him to capitalize.
