The PGA Tour returns to the bright lights this weekend as Liberty National Golf Club plays host to the first playoff event of the season. Located just outside of Manhattan, Liberty National will be one of the longer courses these guys see all season and features no shortage of challenges, including often swirling winds.

Top-20 Finish
Abraham Ancer (+150 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
The 22nd ranked player in the world, Abraham Ancer, has been knocking on the elite’s door for some time now. Going back to the beginning of May, Ancer has made the cut 7 of his 8 events, has four top 5s in that run, and just recently secured his first win on the PGA Tour at the WGC St. Jude 10 days ago. As far as top 20s go, which we’re keyed in on here, Ancer has finished 20 or higher in 7 of his last 9 played events.
A quick look at the metrics shows just how good he’s been, as Ancer ranks inside the top 15on Tour in Scoring Average (69.87), Driving Accuracy % (70.67%), and Par 4 Scoring Average (3.96).
Looking back to his only start here at Liberty National, Ancer has a solo second in 2019, which I’ll put even more weight on than usual as the Tour has only been here a few times.
Jordan Spieth (-110 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
The #2 ranked player in the world per FedEx Cup points, Jordan Spieth, is starting to show once again why he was widely considered on his way to being one of the best players in the world. Not only does Spieth not have a missed cut since January, but over his last five events, he has finished inside the top 20 in all 5, including two solo 2nds. Going back even further, since the start of April, Spieth has 1 win, those 2 solo 2nds, and five top 10s.

Ranking inside the top 10 on Tour in birdie average (4.34), Approach from 150-75 yards, SG: Around the green (.433), putts per round (28.16), and SG: Total (1.457), Spieth is quietly playing some of the best top-to-bottom golf every single week.
And then there’s his course history. In his three times playing here at Liberty National, Spieth has a T9 (2019), T19 (2013), and was one of the best players on the winning Team USA team here at the 2017 Presidents Cup.
Add that all together, and I think we see Spieth go low once again and put his name firmly back on the mind of fans as the Tour Championship approaches.
