PGA Betting Picks: Best Prop Bets for The QBE Shootout (2021)

The PGA Tour heads to Naples, FL this week for what will be an unofficial money event at the QBE Shootout. In a unique event that features 12 teams of two PGA professionals, $3.5 million will be on the line in prize money.

Hosted at the beautiful Tiburon Golf Course, let’s take a look at this two-man event and see where we can identify some value in the prop market.

Top-3 Finish

Harris English/Matt Kuchar (+170 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
In what will be just a 12-team field, it’s hard to see English and Kuchar not placing in at minimum the top three. Since first playing in the event in 2013, the duo has three outright wins and two runner-ups, placing 1 or 2 in the event five times in the eight years they played.

Additionally, in last year’s edition held at this same course, the duo set the event’s record winning by a margin of nine strokes. I like them to go low again this one in a format they thrive on led by a golfer in Kuchar who is playing some great golf to start the 2022 season.

Max Homa/Kevin Kisner (+170 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
For Kisner, this will be the 5th time he’s played this event and the fourth teammate for it. Despite having little success in any of his tries previously, the similar-demeanor Max Homa I think plays the perfect playing partner in this one.

Having made the cut in three of the four events played so far this season, Homa also comes into this one as one of the only recent winners in the field, having won the Fortinet Championship to start off the 2022 season in September.

In this one, I like for two of the more laid back guys on tour to find success an event that is mostly for fun.
