PGA Championship 2022: Scottie Scheffler Drawing “Unusually Heavy Attention” at Sportsbooks

Scottie Scheffler is drawing “unusually heavy attention” at BetRivers Sportsbook and PlaySugarHouse Sportsbook, the sportsbooks announced today. Scheffler is the favorite to win the tournament (+1100 currently) and is backed by “more than twice as much money and wagers as the next most popular golfer,” according to today’s release.

This week, the second major of 2022 gets underway in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Southern Hills Country Club will host the 104th annual PGA Championship.

Defending PGA champ Phil Mickelson, who topped the field at Kiawah Island last year to become the oldest player to win a major, won’t be playing this week. But it’s still a star-studded field, and Tiger Woods is expected to play after his making his return at the Masters last month following a car crash in February 2021.
