It’s been over a year since Tiger Woods stunned the golf world and captured his fifth career Masters title after not winning a major for eleven years. The 2019 Masters win by Tiger will go down as one of the greatest moments in sports history.  Woods was able to overcome many trials and tribulations over the past decade and his resiliency triggered all the feels. We will have to wait until later this year for Tiger to defend his title due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Earlier this month, the PGA Tour announced the 2020 Masters Tournament will take place on November 12th-15th.  Delaying this tournament seven months will pose many new challenges for the golfers – including the weather. November weather in Georgia is quite cool, and an already difficult test of golf at Augusta national will be even tougher. Players will need to adjust their schedules leading up to the event to ensure their form is there.

Atop the betting board is the reigning player of the year Rory McIlroy at +600, followed by Jon Rahm (+1100), Brooks Koepka (+1200), and Tiger Woods (+1400). There is plenty of value to attack down the board. The field is absolutely loaded, and there are many proven winners with past Masters’ experience. Future bets are all about finding value. Now is the best time to jump on a number that could easily fall quickly.

Best Value Bets to Win 2020 Masters

Patrick Cantlay (+2200 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
Patrick Cantlay has climbed all the way up to number seven in the official world golf rankings. The 28-year-old is coming off a 2019 season that included nine top-10 finishes in 21 events. His lone win last year came at the Memorial Tournament at a very difficult golf course in Muirfield Village. Cantlay has the ability to go low at the most challenging courses the PGA Tour has to offer.

Augusta National consistently ranks in the top-10 hardest golf courses on Tour each year. With the tournament being played this November, it will play even more difficult. Cantlay proved he has the ideal skill set to win the Masters after a ninth-place finish in 2019. Don’t forget, Cantlay was briefly in the lead on Sunday last year.

Cantlay has a world-class approach game. He ranked sixth in strokes gained: approach, in 2019. Augusta National rewards players with sharp iron play and guys who have the ability to score well on Par 5s. Prior to the break, Cantlay ranked ninth on Tour in Par 5 scoring.  He is long off the tee and has elite long irons to take advantage of the Par 5s at Augusta. Expect Cantlay to be in the mix once again this November.

Bryson DeChambeau (+2900 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
In his last three outings at Augusta National, DeChambeau has made the cut all three times and has finished no worse than 38th. With his vastly improved distance off the tee, DeChambeau should be able to fair even better at the Masters. It is no secret that DeChambeau has put on a massive amount of muscle over the past year. He now ranks first on the PGA Tour in driving distance – averaging 321 yards off the tee.

DeChambeau was playing some of the best golf of his career prior to the COVID-19 crisis. In seven events this season, he already had four top-10 finishes. His last two events included a 2nd (WGC Championships) and a fourth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This number is a tremendous value for a proven winner with plenty of Masters experience.

Collin Morikawa (+4100 on Fanduel Sportsbook)
Just how good has the 23-year-old been in his first two years on Tour? Well, Morikawa has not missed a single cut in his first 20 events. The California native has turned many heads with his elite ball-striking ability and the positive attitude he carries into each event.

The stats really align well for a strong performance this November for Morikawa. Fourth in strokes gained: approach, eighth in strokes gained: tee-to-green, Morikawa is the real deal. Like many young players in the PGA, the putter holds him back. If he can make strides in this department come November, look out.
