PGA Tour Betting Picks and Guide: The Sanderson Farm Championship (2021)

With the Ryder Cup now in the rearview, the 2021-22 PGA Tour season picks back up as the run to December now picks up with golf every weekend until Thanksgiving. Given last week drew much of the attention of the sport’s elite, this week’s field is expectedly light as the heavy hitters get some rest before picking the grind back up for a final 2021 push.

With plenty of talent and options left in the field, let’s take a closer look at the field this week and see where we can find some value.

Course Preview (Country Club of Jackson)

Coming in at 7,460 yards, the Country Club of Jackson is one of the longer courses players will see this season, as its tree-lined fairways also require a level of accuracy that is well above average. Outside of being in the trees, the rough is largely manageable coming at just 2″ as long as you don’t miss badly, plenty of birdie chances will remain.

On the greens, Bermuda will be the name of the game so as we take a look through the field it’s certainly a metric we will be keying in on.

Outright Betting Picks

Sung-Jae Im (+1600 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

A course horse at Jackson, Im lost in a playoff here in 2019 and has been dominant over his last eight rounds with a scoring average of 68.6. A record many don’t realize he has, Im is the Tour’s all-time leader in birdies (498) in a single season and comes into the new season off a strong finish to round out 2020-21.

In his last four tournaments played, highlighted by a solo #3 at the BMW, Im finished inside the T25 in all four with 10 rounds under 69.

Keegan Bradley (+3500 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Despite playing here just once, Bradley finished T4 last season as he finished near the top in total driving and par-5 scoring averages. Despite a tough finish in 2021, which is likely why we get him at a discount here, Bradley went on a run in the spring finishing T23 or higher in four straight events including a solo #2 at the Valspar.

I’ll happily grab this number for a proven winner in a field lighter than most.
