PGA Tour Betting Picks and Guide: Valspar Championship (2022)
Just a few days removed from a wet (and at-times miserable) PLAYERS Championship that ended on Monday with Cam Smith raising the trophy. The Tour continues its Florida swing just outside Tampa, FL, for the Valspar Championship. In what will be shorter than the typical week for most players in the field, the warmer weather and (mostly) dry conditions will be a welcome sight despite the challenges that will be constant.
Let’s take a closer look at the course and field itself and dial in on a potential winner of this week’s Valspar Championship.

Course Preview: Innisbrook Resort and Golf Course (Copperhead Course)
Filled with pine tree-lined fairways and doglegs upon doglegs, Copperhead isn’t your typical Florida course. So much so that, unlike the other Florida events that feature Bermuda Greens, Poa Greens will be featured this week and run more pure and smooth than any of the other events over the past few weeks.
Coming in at a Par 71 and just over 7,300 yards, Copperhead boasts four Par 5s but is more known for its five Par 3’s. Because of the distance combined with the more than average Par 5s, players will need to be sharp on both ends of the spectrum to compete this week.

Outright Betting Picks
Louis Oosthuizen (+1600 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
Few players in this field have had as much consistency here at Copperhead as Louis Oosthuizen. Already a strong Florida player, Oosthuizen has three top 10s in his past four starts here, with no finish worse than T16 over that stretch.
As far as his recent form to start this season, Oosthuizen already has two top 20s and was on pace for a top 10 finish last week before sliding Sunday at THE PLAYERS with a 76 in the final round. He now enters this week #14 on Tour in SG: Off-The-Tee, and is dialed in at the right time as the first Major of the season is now just weeks away.
Five-for-five making Cuts in his five events to start the season (not including a W/D from the RSM classic), I like for Oosthuizen to stay hot and be near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon.
