English Premier League Matchday 10 Odds, Picks & Predictions (2022)

Saturday Game

Chelsea (-260) vs. Wolves (+700)

After a slow start to their campaign, the Chelsea Blues are right back where they belong; near the top of the table. Currently sitting #5 with seven games down, Chelsea will look to continue their current winning streak (two games) as they welcome the fledgling Wolves to town. The last time we saw Chelsea on the pitch was a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last week, a back-and-forth game that ultimately fell the Blue’s way.

As for the Wolves, finishing last season in the middle of the table was widely considered a success, but things have gotten off to a rocky start in 2022. Winning just one game to this point, the Wolves sit #18 on the table with a goal differential of -6. Their last two games have been particularly alarming, losing both by a goal differential of -5.

Look for Chelsea striker Raheem Sterling to get back on the scorers sheet early in this one as Chelsea comes out firing at home Saturday afternoon in London.

Pick: Chelsea 1H (-130)

Monday Game

Nottingham Forest (+230) vs. Aston Villa (+115)

After earning promotion following a strong 2021-22 campaign in the second league, Nottingham now appears over their head eight games into their EPL season. 1-1-6 to this point, Nottingham has a league-worst -16 goal differential and continuously has looked out of their league. Now having lost five straight, Leicester City was the most recent team to dismantle them, winning 4-0 at home on October 3rd.

On the otherside of this matchup, Aston Villa hasn’t exactly been lighting up the scoreboard, but they have picked up a point in each of their past three games. The last time we saw them on the pitch was a hard-fought 0-0 draw vs. Leeds in a game they had many chances to win but ultimately fell short in.

While neither of these teams has much in the way of star power, I do think Aston Villa has a significant edge in the middle with Ollie Watkins. Anchored by a strong backline as well, look for Villa to take control of this game late and secure the win on the road.

Pick: Aston Villa (+115)
