Premier League Picks & Predictions: Matchday 7 (Sunday)
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Crystal Palace
Brighton's offense has been something to behold this season, scoring 18 times in just six matches. Pascal Gross leads the team with three goals, and he is one of five players to score multiple times this season. In all, 10 different Brighton players have scored.
Brighton has scored multiple goals in three consecutive matches, scoring at least three times in four of six contests thus far. While most of the teams that Brighton has had success against have allowed at least 11 goals this season, this is an offense that managed to score three times against an Arsenal defense that has allowed only two other goals in five matches.
Crystal Palace has allowed 12 goals, which is tied for the second-most entering Matchday 7. The defense has allowed multiple goals in four of six matches, with opponents scoring at least three times on two different occasions. While Brighton may not be able to keep up its three goals per game pace all season, Crystal Palace doesn't have the defensive prowess to slow the squad down.
Pick: Brighton & Hove Albion Over 2.5 Goals (+142)
Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest
Arsenal sits in second place with 15 points thanks to fantastic defensive play. While the offense has scored only 10 goals, the defense has held opponents to just five, with three of those goals being scored by Brighton. The defense has posted three shutouts, while giving up multiple goals just once.
While Nottingham Forest sits far behind Arsenal in the table, its defense has been just as good as Arsenal's at times this season. While Crystal Palace scored three goals against Nottingham Forest last week, the defense has held three of its last four opponents to one goal or fewer.
Additionally, Forest enters Week 7 of Premier League play with just five goals, tied for the second-fewest in the league. The team has scored more than once just twice this season, and has been shut out three times.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (-115)
