NFL Week 17 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Rams vs. Chargers

The Chargers “host” the battle for Los Angeles on Sunday. The Chargers still have a lot to play for in the final two weeks. Wins over the Rams and Broncos, mixed with a Ravens loss could move them into the fifth seed, avoiding the Bills, Bengals and Chiefs in Wild Card weekend. They should be plenty motivated for this contest against an undermanned Rams team.

The Rams come off an rout of Denver on Christmas Day. With Baker Mayfield under center, they’re happy to play spoiler to their SoFi Stadium roommates. Without their first round pick in the 2023 draft, there is really no incentive for the Rams to lose. Their recent DVOA since Mayfield took over is heavily weighted by last Sunday’s game, but there is nothing scarier than a team that has nothing to lose.

This is a new situation for Herbert, Staley and this Charger regime. Coming out tight against a loose team could make this one closer than the Chargers would hope.
