Overview
Going 3-1 in the shortened season that was Spring 2021, the Bulldogs showed a lot of promise within the FCS and, by all indications, should improve this Fall. In their first game of the season last week against Alabama A&M, the Bulldogs put up 41 but came just shy of the win finishing 41-42.
Not only have the Bulldogs lost their 9 vs. FBS foes, however, but they have done so by an average of 41 points per game.
New Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei had one hell of an introduction to the world of a starter amongst the elite in the form of a Georgia Bulldog’s defense that is downright nasty. Failing to reach the end zone once as a unit, the Tigers net ran for just +2 yards the entire game.
While the offense sputtered against the best defense they’ll see all season, the defense did what was expected of them, allowing just 10 points on the way to allowing no touchdowns of their own.

Bottom Line
In the four times these two have faced off (all post-2008), the Tigers have not just been dominant, obviously, but in stunning fashion. Averaging wins of 55+ points per game, I expect a similar outcome here for a Clemson offense embarrassed from last week’s performance and looking for an opponent to take it out on early and often.
Featuring 3-4 deep talent at each position that South Carolina State could never dream of getting, I expect the guys late to continue the route and post 60+ before it’s all said and done.
