South Korea vs. Portugal: 2022 World Cup Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

Group H: South Korea vs. Portugal (Education City Stadium; 6 p.m.)

South Korea fought back from a 2-0 deficit in their second game against Ghana, but they allowed a late goal and now sit at 0-1-1 heading into the final match day. As for Portugal, they’re firing on all cylinders and entering at 2-0-0 with a +3 goal differential. The betting odds for Friday’s match are currently Portugal -150, South Korea +390, and the draw comes in at +330.

It’s always tough to bet on these matches where one team is already going through to the next round, and the other is still fighting for a spot to advance. For example, on Wednesday, we saw a French lineup against Tunisia that featured nine new starters. They ultimately dropped the final group stage showdown 1-0 in a game that they were favored (-164 to win). So, considering we don’t know who will be on the pitch, I’m going to stay away from a side and look at the total. I’ll go ahead and lock in the under on 2.5 goals. If Portugal opts to sit Cristiano Ronaldo (free agent), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), and João Félix (Atlético Madrid), then we will likely see this Portugal offense flounder. Additionally, with South Korea playing for their tournament life, look for them to be extremely stingy on defense. Let’s take a shot with the under for this Group H clash.

Bet: Under 2.5 Goals (-105 via DraftKings)
