Saturday's Best WNBA Picks & Bets: Sparks vs. Fever

Los Angeles Sparks vs. Indiana Fever

After a day off yesterday for the Fourth of July, we are back with a pair of games starting with the Sparks against the Fever. The Fever sits as a 5.5-point favorite with a 163.5 total in Indiana tonight.

In case you are unsure how to spell momentum, it might just be F-E-V-E-R. Despite missing Caitlin Clark with a leg injury, they have pulled off three straight wins, including blowouts over the Wings and the Lynx. Something is clicking with them even without that spark plug. The Fever have been riding their defense with a top-four unit, showcasing their strength against the Lynx. Kelsey Mitchell has stepped up and Aliyah Boston has continued her All-Star ways. They limit second-chance points, and the Sparks are not the best mid-range team.

The Sparks are the second-worst team in the league, having only won one of their last seven matches, but that win was against the Fever. They have one of the worst offenses in the game, though, and the Fever was missing some easy shots last time out, going 23-of-63 (36%) from the field. I don't think that will repeat tonight.

Even if it does, the Fever have a clear advantage defensively. Overall, they've been solid but even better when playing at home. I know the Sparks earned a victory over the Fever recently, but I don't want to base my decision solely on that data point. I do expect the Fever to continue leaning on their defense, and, of course, their offense is going to take a step back without Clark. Give me the under here.

Pick: Under 164.5 Points (-115 at BetMGM)
