Connecticut Sun at Dallas Wings
Winners of four of their last six games, the Connecticut Sun are one of the hottest teams in the league. Their defense over this stretch, which saw them go 5-0-1 ATS, has been crucial to their success. They've allowed just 75.2 points per game (PPG), over 10 points below their season average. They'll take on a Dallas team struggling in recent games.
Dallas is 1-10 in their last 11 games as they've fallen all the way to the bottom of the standings in August. The biggest reason they've stayed out of the win column is that their defense has completely fallen apart. They've given up 80+ points in each of the 11 games, allowing an average of 89.9 PPG. Injuries have really caught up to Dallas, but they still have Rookie of the Year frontrunner Paige Bueckers on the court.
Connecticut's success has been mostly against some of the worst offensive teams in the league. This is a team that benefitted from playing four games against Washington and Chicago, who sit 11th and 12th, respectively, in offensive rating. Thankfully for them, Dallas ranks just ahead of those two and is 11th in the league with a team 41.9% field-goal rate.
It's an ugly game, but at this point, I can't trust Dallas against any team, even an offense as bad as Connecticut. The Sun are playing their best ball of the season and I don't think that ends on Wednesday night.
