NBA Same Game Parlay Picks

Chicago Bulls vs. Los Angeles Lakers

DeMar DeRozan was terrible in his last game against the 76ers. He went 0-for-7 from the field and scored just four points in 21 minutes with three rebounds and an assist.

Yet, he’s still averaged 25.4 points per game in March and has attempted nearly 18 shots per game. He’ll be fine. DeRozan has hit at least 24 points in five of his last six games, with the last game being the one he didn’t get over.

Meanwhile, Pat Beverley will want to put together a good game tonight. He’s going up against his former team that let go of him at the trade deadline. Beverley has added at least five rebounds in his last two games and has reached this number in 55% of his last 20 games.

Finally, Nikola Vucevic has only hit one three per game in March. He’s attempting about three per game and only has two games in the month with two threes. He might not even attempt two threes tonight.

First Basket Scorer

Josh Giddey (+850)

The Thunder are barely hanging onto the last playoff spot and are currently tied with the Mavericks for tenth place. They need to get over this three-game losing streak they are on if they want to make it in.

Portland still has a small chance of making it into the playoffs and is only 3.5 games out, so a win tonight would help. The team can score with three players averaging over 20 points per game, including Damian Lillard, whose 32.2 points per game is third in the league, but they cannot defend and are 27th in defensive efficiency.

The Thunder hold the advantage in overall first baskets this season and are coming in grabbing eight of their tenth. Josh Giddey has been getting the first points for OKC lately, with two in their last five. Portland is allowing the most first baskets to shooting guards this year.

NBA Prop Bets

Jaylen Brown OVER 27.5 Points (-122)

Boston is in a tight race for the top seed as the regular season wraps up. The team is playing really well by winning six of their last eight, but Milwaukee has been nearly unbeatable to the point where the Celtics cannot gain ground.

Luckily they’ll face the Spurs, who are already eliminated from the playoffs and have one of the league’s worse records. The big reason is they are last in defensive efficiency. That will benefit Jaylen Brown, as the Spurs allow the fifth-most points to shooting guards this year.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Orlando Magic

The Nets will travel to Orlando to finish a Florida back-to-back after facing Miami on Saturday night. It has been a rough stretch for Brooklyn, who is 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games. They’re finally starting to look like a team that traded away all of their stars at the deadline. This will be the third game in four nights for the Nets, which is typically a recipe for disaster.

Orlando, though being 12 games under .500 on the season, has managed an 18-19 SU record at home. This has also resulted in a 20-17 ATS record at home as well. Being a young team, they’ve played exceptional defense, sitting at 16th in adjusted defense. This has helped them stay in games when their offense cannot keep up.

The Orlando defense should be able to do enough to keep a Brooklyn offense at bay that has struggled recently, outside of a huge outburst last night. The third game in four nights should take a toll on a Brooklyn team that hasn’t quite figured out the new rotations. I’ll stick with the home trends for Orlando and back the Magic on the spread.

Pick: 1.1u on Magic -2  (-110)

2023 March Madness Best Bets

It is hard not to be impressed with Texas’ NCAA Tournament run. First, the Longhorns showed their experience and discipline in holding a high-powered Colgate squad to 61 points (its second-lowest scoring total of the season). Then, center Dylan Disu carried Texas with a career-high 28 points against Penn State in the Round of 32. And with him in a walking boot in the Sweet 16, the Longhorns’ three-headed guard combination of Marcus Carr, Tyrese Hunter, and Sir’Jabari Rice combined for 53 of the team’s 83 points while going 7-of-9 from 3-point range. However, we are concerned with Disu’s injury entering this matchup, as Miami’s Norchad Omier should feast on the backboards.

Omier had 17 rebounds (eight offensive) against Indiana’s talented frontcourt, and the Hurricanes outrebounded the Hoosiers by 17 as a team. In addition, there has not been a more impressive offensive performance in the tournament than what Miami did against Houston, scoring 1.27 points per possession against a Cougars defense that ranks in the top five nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency (per KenPom), effective field goal percentage defense, 3-point percentage allowed, and 2-point percentage allowed.

Miami is a battle-tested team (27th in D-I experience) and can use its experience from last year’s Elite Eight run to help it this year. In addition, while Rodney Terry is more than worthy of being named Texas’s coach long-term, a significant coaching edge goes to the Hurricanes with Jim Larranaga and his 696 wins (in 37 years of experience). So as long as we are grabbing more than four points on the point spread, which we are at BetMGM, we are eschewing the moneyline and happily backing the Hurricanes, who have covered eight of ten games as underdogs this season.

Pick: Miami +4

NHL Game Picks

St. Louis Blues (+164) vs. Los Angeles Kings (-200) | O/U 6.5 (+100/-122)

The Kings are in a tight race in the Pacific, being just four points behind the Golden Knights.

LA’s offense and blue line have excelled all season, but the goaltending was holding them back. Joonas Korpisalo has been a great addition, and Pheonix Copley continues to play well and has allowed 1.60 goals over his last five games.

The Blues won’t be heading to the playoffs, but they’re coming into this game winning four of their last five. The deeper lines have provided the offense, with Jakub Vrana, Sammy Bilas, and Pavel Buchnevich scoring three goals in their previous five games. Joel Hofer will be in the crease, and he’s been outstanding, going 3-0-1 with a .944 save percentage.

Every game is essential for the Kings, and they’ve been playing like it. The Blues can look great in one game, then awful in the next. LA has won on the puck line in both games against St. Louis and will get it done again tonight.

Pick: Kings -1.5 (+118)
