Super Bowl LV: MVP Prop Bet (2021)

There’s certainly no shortage of prop bets for bettors to get down on over the next week before Super Bowl LV gets underway in Tampa, FL. One such prop market, the Winner of the Super Bowl MVP, attracts a lot of attention, and for good reason.

Predominately won by quarterbacks, the current market offers great odds for those looking to get down on one of the many skill athletes in the running for this year’s award.

Let’s take a closer look.

In many ways, the play for Super Bowl MVP comes down to who you think will pull off the SU win. For me, it’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If anyone has the right amount of talent, skill, and appetite for risk to knockoff the seemingly perfect Chiefs, it’s this Bucs team.

With two weeks to prepare, OC Byron Leftwich, head coach Bruce Arians, and the undisputed G.O.A.T. should craft the perfect game plan to pull it off. With Antonio Brown likely back in some capacity, Brady will have three elite weapons at his disposal, in addition to a strong running game.

In what I think turns into a shootout, I like the chances for Brady to turn in a monster performance, and further secure his record with his fifth Super Bowl MVP Award.

Pick: Tom Brady +200

FanDuel initially opened Cheifs wide receiver Tyreek Hill at +1700 to win the award, before quickly taking down the prop bet entirely. Still, even after reopening they have him listed higher than anyone in the market.

Hill is an absolute nightmare matchup for teams, as there are only a few corners in the league who can check him. None of which will be playing on Sunday. While he’s mostly been pulled from return duty the last two seasons, the Super Bowl could likely be a different story especially if the Chiefs find themselves in a close game.

Additionally, through the Chief’s two playoff games this season, Hill is averaging 141 yards per game. Though he has yet to find pay dirt this postseason, the Super Bowl is exactly where those targets should come. During last year’s big game, Hill led all receivers with 105 yards on 16 targets.

Pick: Tyreek Hill +1400
