Tennessee Titans vs. Atlanta Falcons NFL Sports Betting Guide
The Atlanta Falcons can't seem to buy a win versus AFC opponents. After a thrilling comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, the Falcons came crashing back down to earth in a 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday. Atlanta has lost 10 of its last 11 games against AFC teams and now gets another. Can they get a win over a Tennessee Titans’ team that looked hapless last we saw them, or will Dan Quinn and company fall to 1-3?

Overview
The Titans are facing major question marks as well following a lopsided 20-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in which they never really got going on offense. Marcus Mariota was sacked nine times, pushing his league-leading sack total to 19 on the season. While the protection needs to be better, there is no doubt Mariota himself needs to do a better job of getting the football out quickly and on time to his receivers. They'll try to run Derrick Henry this week, but the Falcons’ run defense has been decent. They held the Colts to just 79 yards on 24 carries last week and are allowing just 100 rushing yards per game (12th in the NFL).
Meanwhile, the Falcons can't ask for much more out of quarterback Matt Ryan. Despite the one play in which he missed a wide-open Julio Jones in the end zone, Ryan went 29-of-34 for 304 yards and three touchdowns in last week's loss to Indianapolis. The biggest concern for Atlanta is a defense that has allowed an average of 25.0 points per game this season. Now, they'll be without safety Keanu Neal for a second straight season after he tore his Achilles last week. Remember, the team also lost backup safety J.J. Wilcox for the season in July.
Trends
- Falcons are 0-11 ATS in last 11 games vs. AFC opponents
- Atlanta is 1-10 SU in last 11 games vs. AFC opponents
- Falcons are 3-8 ATS in last 11 games overall
- Tennessee is 5-15 ATS in last 20 Week 4 games
- Titans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall
Bottom Line
As bad as the Titans looked in the loss to Jacksonville, there is reason to expect them to bounce back this weekend. First of all, Mariota couldn't possibly look any worse than he did last week. Second, Tennessee should be able to establish the run early and lean heavily on Henry in this one. Finally, Atlanta has been absolutely terrible against AFC opponents in recent years, a trend that could continue with the Titans getting an extra few days to prepare for this matchup. While they are far from a lock to win this game straight up, Tennessee should be able to at least cover the four-point spread on the road in Week 4. Look for the Falcons to win but inside of the spread.
