BetMGM

The PGA Tour and BetMGM made history this week by announcing ac major innovation in the way we watch sports on television. This week in Las Vegas, for the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek, BetMGM will provide “leaderboards with integrated ‘open’ and ‘current’ odds to win, along with odds for head-to-head matchups, top finishes, winning margin, wire-to-wire winner, hole-in-ones and playoffs.” This is the first broadcast sporting event to provide four days of coverage with updated gambling odds.

“We are excited to build upon our recently announced Official Betting Operator relationship with BetMGM by activating this partnership at The CJ Cup at Shadow Creek,” Norb Gambuzza, PGA TOUR Senior Vice President, Media, and Gaming said in a release. “The focus of our sports betting partnerships is to engage fans in new and creative ways. As an element of that strategy, we began integrating live odds onto Tour digital platforms in August and now we look forward to learning from this first-time test in a live telecast.”

Soon, every game on television or streaming service will feature gambling odds. Golf is the perfect sport to go first with this venture due to the time in-between shots. In-game wagering on the BetMGM app will provide golf bettors a unique experience for this tournament and others in the future.

“The PGA TOUR has been a great partner for BetMGM. Being the first sports betting platform to integrate betting odds into a live PGA TOUR telecast speaks to the innovative nature of our partnership. We look forward to continuing to move the needle and work closely with the TOUR to produce great content.” Matt Prevost, BetMGM Chief Marketing Officer said.

DraftKings Sportsbook

Tuesday Night Football was a thing for only the second time in the history of the NFL. The Buffalo Bills were 3.5-point road favorites against the Tennessee Titans. A notable 79% of the bets came in on Buffalo -3.5, while 67% of the moneyline bets also went to the Bills. The Titans rolled to a 42-16 victory, improving to 4-0.

With no game on Thursday night, one player at Draftkings was very happy to hit on a big wager in the first quarter.

DK also had another monster bet come in this weekend. This time, it was a million dollars on the moneyline for the Saints to beat the Chargers on Monday Night Football. It went to overtime, but eventually, New Orleans was victorious.

FanDuel Sportsbook

The Lakers winning the NBA Championship on Sunday night was a big hit for the public, as 68% of the bets and 67% of the money came in on the Lakers -6. Los Angeles blew out the Heat in Game 6 to win its 17th NBA title. The book made some of it back on the total, as 74% of the bets went on the over 215, which never came close to cashing.

For the NFL games on Sunday, the biggest losers for FanDuel were the Cardinals and Rams, who both earned blowout wins on the road. The public came in hard on Arizona as seven-point favorites over the Jets, with 92% of the line’s bets and 91% of the money on the birds. For the Rams, 82% of the bets took L.A. minus the seven points in their easy win over Washington.

On the other side, the book did very well when the Chiefs lost at home to the Raiders. In that game, 68% of the money took the defending champs on the moneyline, only to see Kansas City get beat. The Seahawks not covering was also good for the guys behind the counter, as 72% of the bets and 70% of the money came in on Seattle -6.5.

Other Sportsbooks

In Las Vegas, the city is counting down the days until the grand opening of Circa Resort and Casino. Opening October 28, 2020, Circa “will deliver an all-new integrated resort concept to the heart of Downtown Las Vegas at the historic Fremont Street. The only 21+ resort in the city, Circa will combine the best of Las Vegas service in a modern, state-of-the-art setting. The 1.25-million-square-foot resort and casino will have the world’s largest sportsbook, innovative entertainment and gaming, and unparalleled personalized offerings inspired by old-school Las Vegas hospitality.”

The three-story sportsbook has a ton of people talking, and you might have seen the video of the head-turning pool on Twitter:

Staying in Sin City, the Westgate SuperBook is back with another in-season contest that might be worth checking out if your fantasy team is dead in the water. The second-ever SuperBook Reboot is set to launch in November with the same rules as the traditional SuperContest. However, this contest is $500 to enter, and it only includes the final weeks of the NFL season.
