2025 The Sentry Odds, Picks & Predictions: Best PGA Bets
2025 gets underway with a new PGA Tour season at the beautiful Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii. The Sentry is the first of eight Signature Events, so it’s a smaller field reserved for former PGA Tour winners and other golfers who finished inside the top 50 in the 2024 FedExCup standings.
Expect a lot of low scorecards on a course that doesn’t necessarily test the full bag. Players turn in anywhere from -5 to -10 under-par rounds at the Plantation Course, taking advantage of the elevation changes, Bermudagrass fairways and greens, with minimal hazards.
Notable players who will not compete in this field include reigning FedExCup champion Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and Shane Lowry. Viktor Hovland is questionable with a toe injury. Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, and Collin Morikawa are the top three betting favorites ahead of Round 1, which tees off Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Sentry: Best Bets
These plays are 1 unit, 0.50u, and 0.10 units. Or 1%, 0.50%, and 0.10% of your betting bankroll. Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook.
Collin Morikawa (+1100)
Collin Morikawa is among the best ball-strikers in this field. He recorded a T5 finish at -25-under-par in 2024 at Kapalua, going -6 or lower in three of eight rounds. Morikawa would’ve been in contention on Sunday if not for a -3-under-par outing during Round 3.
At 11-1, Morikawa is currently the third betting favorite behind only Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas. Morikawa didn’t win any events in 2024 but he did log a pair of runner-up finishes and eight top-1o finishes. He finished runner-up at The Sentry in 2023, two behind Jon Rahm at -25-under-par, while turning in another T5 finish in 2022, also at -25-under-par.
Let’s bet a unit on Morikawa to hit the ground running in 2025 with an outright win at The Sentry.
Corey Conners (+2800)
Canadian golfer, Corey Conners, is among the best off-the-tee in this field. Conners’ short game has been his biggest vulnerability but the Tifeagle Bermudagrass greens and minimal hazards around the greens should help Conners climb the leaderboard at the Plantation Course.
He’s turned in T33-T18-T19 in his last three appearances at this event, dating back to 2020. Conners only has two career wins, both at the Valero Texas Open, but he did finish T10 or better in three of the final six events played in the 2024 PGA Tour season. If Conners can continue to be sharp off-the-tee and on approach, he’ll be a nice value to contend this weekend at 28-1 odds.
Let’s place a 0.25 unit wager on Conners to win The Sentry at +2800.
Akshay Bhatia (+3500)
Akshay Bhatia will returns to Kapalua this week after coming off of a fantastic season in 2024, which included an outright win at the Valero Texas Open in a playoff. Bhatia logged back-to-back T5 finishes, including a runner-up at the Travelers Championship and the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The lefty finished 27th in total strokes gained, including 33rd SG: putting, 34th in driving accuracy, and 48th on approach. Bhatia went T14 at this event in 2024, imploding with a 71 in the fourth round, keeping him from potential contention for the outright win.
Let’s stake another 0.25 unit wager on Bhatia to win The Sentry at 35-1 odds.
