After a busy Wednesday night in the association, the NBA returns tonight with just a two-game slate in a relatively quiet night across the league. With Lakers/76ers and Timberwolves/Warriors being the only two games to choose from, let’s examine both and see where the edges remain.

1. 76ers -2.5 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
With 38 points and 12 boards in four straight games and six performances of 40/10 or more this season, Joel Embiid is leading a 76ers team who isn’t getting much help elsewhere. Still, the 76ers come into tonight having won seven of their last 10 and just 2.5 games back from first place in the east, despite being in 6th currently.
As for the visiting Lakers, another three-game slide was at hand just a few weeks ago, though things seem to be much brighter in LA following the return of Anthony Davis. After missing 17 games with a knee injury, Davis returned for 24 minutes Tuesday vs. the Nets, a 106-96 win. The Nets, however, are reeling, and I don’t expect the same result tonight for the Lakers.
2. Timberwolves +6 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook
The Warriors return home tonight looking to build on their momentum of a recent three-game win streak in which their offense has finally started to click. They looked like the Warriors of old on Tuesday night in a 130-92 win over the Mavericks, as Curry and Thompson combined for 33 points as seemingly everyone got in on the scoring.
For the visiting Timberwolves, momentum is also building. Winning their fourth game in five tries on Tuesday, second-year player Anthony Edwards went off for 40 points, boosting his average to 22.7 points per game as he quietly is turning into one of the best young players in the league. In this one, I like Edwards and former Warrior D’Angelo Russell to have a night at the Chase Center and for the young upstart Timberwolves to keep this one close.
