Fred VanVleet OVER 16.5 POINTS -120
This play looks like a no-brainer. I understand why the line is this low, given VanVleet’s recent struggles and the tough Miami defense he will face. But I can’t pass it for a player of this caliber, all-star, and maybe the best player on this good Raptors team. To be fair, he is averaging 14.1ppg in L10 and only 12 in L5, but I can’t see this continuing forever. VanVleet is still a 20+ per game scorer for the season and has a habit of going hot on the second nights of back to back. He had 22, 19, and 21 against Miami and has hit in 5 of L6 against them since the start of last year. Miami is 24th in 3PTM allowed, which is Fred VanVleet’s biggest weapon.
LeBron James OVER 30.5 POINTS -111
I know it’s getting boring, but he just doesn’t let us down. Lakers are on the verge of missing the play-in, and they need to win to even have a chance for it. But LeBron is playing out of his mind (on offense), and his numbers are going up and up and up. In L5 games, he scored 36. 38, 38, 39, 38. He leads the league in scoring and field goals attempted per game while being 3rd in minutes per game. Denver is 23rd in FG% allowed, and in L10, LeBron attempts almost 25 shots per game. He is very efficient, and AD coming back doesn’t bother his scoring at all as he can go hot anytime and make one of these crazy scoring stretches like the 3rd quarter vs. Pelicans (21 points). Another game with a close spread and high total so that I will take my chances/
