Let's dive into our top MLB bets. There is a good slate of games to choose from, and we'll look at some to play for this Tuesday, April 23.

Tuesday's MLB Best Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Los Angeles Dodgers (-205) at Washington Nationals (+170) | O/U 10 (-102/-118)

The Dodgers spent a billion dollars in the off-season, yes B-illion. While they are in first place in the National League West, they're just a half-game up and two games over .500. The lineup is doing what they're expected to, and are second in walks (101), third in home runs (28), and fourth in SLG (.421). The pitching hasn't been great, but James Paxton has done his part. He's allowed three or fewer runs at each start, but the control has been horrendous, and he walked eight batters in his last start.

The Nationals won't likely finish in last place with how bad the Marlins are, but they aren't going to compete this year in what's been a massive downfall since their 2019 World Series title. It's that time of the week when Patrick Corbin takes the mound, and we fade him. He's been the worst pitcher over the last few years and has led the league in losses three consecutive seasons (25-53 record since 2021) with a 5.84 ERA and 11.1 hits allowed per nine.

That Dodgers lineup should roll against Corbin.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-130)

Toronto Blue Jays (-125) at Kansas City Royals (+105) | O/U 8 (-115/-105)

The Blue Jays had a rough start to the season but have won seven of their last nine. The offense has been much better in that span, with .406 slugging, eight home runs, and scoring 4.4 runs per game. Kevin Gausman gets the start, and after being the best starter in this rotation, he has had a couple of rough outings. He still possesses the swing-and-miss stuff, but he's also leaving pitches over the heart of the plate.

The Royals are one of the more surprising teams in the league coming into today’s game at 13-10. They've hit a rough patch, losing four of their last five, but let's hope this is a small snag and they weren't just playing over expectations. We can now call Michael Wacha a journeyman as he plays for his fifth team in five seasons, but he's been dependable in that span and has allowed three earned or fewer in three of four starts.

Wacha has faced the White Sox twice, which helps his numbers, and he could have trouble against a lineup starting to get better. The Royals have also been hitting well lately, and they're especially great at putting the ball in play. They play a higher-scoring game on Monday, and that will continue today.

Pick: Over 8 Total Runs (-115)

Baltimore Orioles (-148) at Los Angeles Angels (+124) | O/U 8.5 (-115/-105)

The Orioles started the season slowly, but they've surged with seven wins in their last eight and have moved into first in the American League East. Enormous credit to the offense, even with Jackson Holiday slumping to start his career, as the O's are averaging 6.2 runs in the last eight games. It wasn't the best rookie season for Grayson Rodriguez, but he's been phenomenal in his sophomore season with three quality starts, and his pitching run value in the 93rd percentile.

The Angels have won just one series, and that was against the Marlins. They are 5-10 since sweeping Miami and have lost five straight. Griffin Canning had his best start last time against the Rays, but he's already seen Baltimore in his first start of the season, and they were able to get him for five runs.

The pitching matchup is a massive advantage for Baltimore, and as that offense continues to play well, they'll get another win tonight.

Pick: Orioles Moneyline (-148)
