Sunday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Joe Ryan Under 1.5 Walks (-160)
Joe Ryan has elite command, putting up a 2.8% walk rate in 27 innings so far this season. If we combine game logs from 2024-25, Ryan has gone under 1.5 walks in 23 of his last 29 starts.
This is a great matchup against the Angels, who have registered a 6.4% walk rate versus righties (29th) and a 3.3% walk rate in the last 14 days (30th). During these 14 days, the Angels have also put up a 49 wRC+, which is by far the worst mark in baseball during this period.
While this prop is expensive (-160 odds), it’s worth making the move considering Ryan’s skills along with the exploitable matchup. It’s also worth noting that this prop opened at (-115), but has moved up considerably to (-160). Lay the juice and take Ryan to go under 1.5 walks.
Tylor Megill Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-135)
Tylor Megill is breaking out for the Mets, fresh off a 10-strikeout performance versus the Phillies. But this is a tough matchup for strikeouts against the Nationals today.
Washington has put up a 19% strikeout rate versus righties (third) this season, and it’s 17.2% in the last week (fifth) and 15.3% in the last 14 days (first). During these two weeks, only one of 14 pitchers was able to get to six or more strikeouts - Paul Skenes, who finished with six in six innings.
Some of the names on this list include Clay Holmes (two strikeouts), Kodai Senga (five strikeouts), Sandy Alcantara (one strikeout), Dustin May (one strikeout), Corbin Burnes (three strikeouts) and Brandon Pfaadt (four strikeouts). The Nats are doing a good job of putting the ball in play. We should also note that this opened at (+115), but has moved to (-135).
Max Meyer Over 16.5 Outs (-130)
Max Meyer has racked up 17+ strikeouts (in 5.2 or more innings) in each of his four starts this year. The Marlins righty is coming off a dominant performance versus the Reds, where he pitched six shutout innings with zero walks and 14 strikeouts.
This is a good spot against the Mariners at T-Mobile Park, which is the most pitcher-friendly environment in baseball. On top of that, the Marlins need innings from Meyer in this one because their bullpen has been overworked in this series. Connor Gillispie lasted only 2.2 frames, while Cal Quantrill went 5.2 innings.
Given Meyer’s recent performance and the exploitable matchup and bullpen situation, 16.5 outs looks like a low bar that is easily attainable for the young righty.
