Top 3 MLB Playoffs Player Prop Bets Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (10/19)

A marquee Game One of two perennial powerhouses and a massive Game Two on the West Coast between two Wild Card teams highlight a fantastic day of baseball ahead of us. Let’s take a look at some of my favorite prop bets for the day.

Jameson Taillon u3.5 Ks +120

This bet is one I like for two reasons. First, I think the leash for Taillon is extremely short, with Domingo German ready to enter if needed. Second, Taillon is not an elite swing-and-miss pitcher and the Astros are one of a short list of teams with elite offense and low K-numbers. They had the second-lowest K-rate in all of baseball as a team this season.

Alec Bohm o1.5 TB +140

Bohm has not been a star yet this postseason but I think today is his day. He is getting to face Blake Snell and Bohm has mashed lefties this season. He has a 158 wRC+ against southpaws and while it has not manifested in massive home run totals, he does have 22 extra-base hits in 175 PAs against them. I think he hits a big double in this one possibly driving in a few runs and hitting the over on this bet.

Aaron Judge u0.5 Hits +160

While Judge did homer yesterday, he has struggled mightily this postseason as Cleveland got the slugger to strikeout in eleven of his twenty-one PAs. He seemed to be pressing at times but a drop in the order to third did help a bit halfway though. Verlander is a smart and talented pitcher with fantastic command who may be able to exploit a lot of the same weaknesses as Cleveland did.
