Top 3 NBA Betting Odds & Picks for Wednesday, May 11 (2022)
With the season on the line for the Grizzlies, they return to Memphis tonight for a potential close-out game for the Warriors. In the East, the Bucks-Celtics series returns to Boston for a pivotal Game 5 to break a 2-2 deadlock.
Let’s take a closer look at three plays I’m keyed in on for tonight.
#1. Bucks +5.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
We’ve seen this one move already off the opener of Celtics -5, but I’m grabbing the hook while it’s here. Despite Khris Middletown being once again ruled out for this game, his absence hasn’t been as much of the issue as the bench’s lack of scoring.
Their most lethal three-point threat Grayson Allen has disappeared in this series after averaging over 13 points per game off the bench in the first one. Scoring well below (5.75) his season average of 11 points per game, I expect some regression in a spot they desperately need him here.
For the Celtics, the bench production has been even worse, scoring just 11 points (Derrick White) in their Game 4 win, which a closer look shows they won in spite of their bench. I don’t expect that to cut it against a tested Bucks team in this one, as the veteran and tested team manages to keep this one close throughout.
#2. Grizzlies ML | +150 at DK Sportsbook
Ja Morant will again be out of the lineup for a pivotal Game 6 at the FedEx Forum, as his absence was most felt in the fourth quarter of Game 5. Leading by as many as 12 in the 4th quarter, the Grizzlies had no answer for 4th quarter-Curry, as Steph exploded for 18 of his 32 points with less than 8 minutes left to go.
The Grizz did get a surprising boost from Tyus Jones who started in place of Morant, scoring 19 points and being a constant presence on the defensive end. Back in front of what should be a rabid Memphis fan base, I like for the Grizzlies to send this one back to The Bay as guard Desmond Bane has a career game with plenty of help and enthusiasm around him.
#3. Warriors-Grizzlies Over 218.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
This total has continued to dip off its opener of 220.5 since the confirmed news of Morant came down, and I’m not sure it’s done yet. While I better number might still be yours to have, I’m comfortable playing it here in what I expect to be a higher scoring game thane expected.
Despite Morant being out, Bane will rely on Jaren Jackson Jr., who scored 33 in the opening game of this series en route to now averaging 20.25 points per game. In a close-out game with a chance to rest on the line, expect the Warriors led by Curry and Klay Thompson to push the pace early, and Jackson Jr. and Bane to keep pace throughout in the friendly confines of FedEx Forum.
