Kemba Walker Over 12.5 points +100 at Draftkings Sportsbook
Kemba is on a cold streak right now. He hasn’t broken double digits since early in November. The reason for this is the Knicks ’ opponents during this time. They have played the Bucks twice, 76ers once, and the Cavaliers once. All of these teams are phenomenal defensively. Even though he hasn’t been scoring points, Kemba is still getting plenty of shot attempts. That is why I like this bet. The odds are at plus value, and they are playing the third-worst defense in the NBA in the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets are giving up 117.5 points per game. That is the most in the NBA. With the number of shot attempts Kemba gets, this is great value.
DeMar DeRozan Under 25.5 points -115 at Draftkings Sportsbook
DeRozan has been phenomenal this year. He is averaging 26 points per game, but tonight they play the best team in the NBA. The Warriors are also the best defensive team in the NBA. They are allowing 102.3 points per game, which is the second-best in the NBA. The Warriors are also second in the NBA in rebounds, which means they don’t allow a lot of second-chance opportunities. That is going to limit the number of touches that DeRozan gets. Even though DeRozan is having a fantastic season, that is due to volume. His shooting percentage is down from the last few years. He has relied on his number of touches to score points. There are too many factors to take the over in this matchup.
Brooklyn Nets -7 -110 at Draftkings Sportsbook
This bet is more about the New Orleans Pelicans than it is about the Brooklyn Nets. The Pelicans are a mess this year. They are 1-11, and during November have lost by eight or more points every game. In fact, they are losing by an average of 12 points per game. Statistically, this bet makes sense. The Pelicans are struggling to cover the spread this year, and November has been hard on them. Without Zion, the Pelicans will continue to have issues covering.
Brooklyn is looking better this month. They are 4-1 and are winning by an average of 17 points per game. When winning, they have only won by less than seven points twice this year. They can score points, and the Nets don’t take their foot off the throttle once they are up. Harden and Durant both need their points. They are going to have the opportunity to run up the points on this Pelicans team. Everything adds up for the Nets to win this game by more than seven points.
