Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Saturday, October 30th (2021)

Betting the NBA is all about finding trends and value, just like any sport with a long season. Teams will win and lose, but the goal is to bet when teams or players are about to hit streaks. Then we want to fade the players and teams as they lose their value. Today you have a chance to hop on some trends that still have value. When betting these, also lower the units you bet. Once they start trending, increase the number of units until you start to fade the bet. Let’s look into some of these upcoming trends.

Memphis Grizzlies Moneyline -130 at Draftkings Sportsbook

The Grizzlies have quality wins this season, beating a good Cavs and Warriors team. Ja Morant has been phenomenal this season and is averaging 30.4 points per game. That ties him with Steph Curry as the league’s top scorer. Morant is not only scoring points, but he is also doing so efficiently. Morant is shooting 54% from the field and 40% from the three-point range. Both of these are huge improvements from last year for the young guard. The Grizzlies also brought in some help this year with Steven Adams, and Desmond Bane has made strides in his second year on the team.

The Heat are a great team this year. They are pushing to win a championship. The issue with this game is the minutes they put in last night. Four of their guys put in over 30 minutes and four more put in 20-plus minutes. Miami uses a nine-man rotation, so that is a lot of minutes for the starters and the bench. It is never great to bet on a team to win back-to-back games for this very reason. That is a lot of minutes to put in during a professional game, especially during the long season. Let us take the team with the best scorer this season and fewer minutes on their legs.

Boston Celtics Moneyline  +105 at Draftkings Sportsbook

The last time the Boston Celtics played the Washington Wizards, the Celtics lost 107-116. The Wizards are a great team this year. I have bet them to cover the last four games they have played. They made some key additions in the offseason to help one of the best scorers in the league in Bradley Beal. Dinwiddie, Kuzma, Caldwell-Pope, and Harrell have contributed to the team’s success this year. Because of their success early on, I would lower the number of units you bet on Boston’s moneyline to be on the safer side. The Wizards are at home, and they have looked strong thus far.

The last time these two teams played, Boston’s stars had awful games. Jaylen Brown, Dennis Schroder, and Jayson Tatum combined to go 20-for-53 from the field. Tatum and Brown also shot 2-for-12 from three-point range. These two are some of the best scorers in the league. The data tell us all three will have a better showing tonight. They are efficient scorers. Due to all of them having a down performance when they last played the Wizards, there is value to betting on this game. Lower your units but take the betting value on the Celtics for this game while it is still available.

Kemba Walker Over 16.5 +105 at Draftkings Sportsbook

Kemba is starting to get comfortable with the offense. In the last two games, he has 21 and 19 points. The crazy piece is how efficient Kemba has been. He is shooting 49% from the field and 58.1% from the three-point range. Lately, the number of minutes Kemba has been playing has spiked by nine, creating more opportunities for him to score. Currently, Kemba is averaging 14.2 points per game, but that will increase as the season progresses. Take the value of this play before it is lost. This early in the NBA season, when you see a trend, play it while there is still value and then fade the pick as it loses value. Bet Kemba before it loses value.
