Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Thursday, April 21 (2022)

For now the third consecutive night, favorites went 2-1 ATS in the Association, as the Celtics and 76ers pulled away late and the Bulls got the outright win as 10-point favorites. The attention now heads West, as the Timberwolves, Jazz, and Nuggets will look to capitalize on their home courts tonight.

Let’s take a closer look at the action and pick a winner in each.

#1. Timberwolves +2 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
Following a 130-117 punch in the mouth in Game 1, the Grizzlies got back on track Tuesday night, evening the series 124-96. A major catalyst to the win was keeping the Timberwolves scorers in check, with no player going over 20 points as they kept a team that averages a league-leading 115.9 points per game to just 96.

The Grizzlies also got a big boost from their bench in game two, with the combo of Clarke-Tillman-Williams scoring 39 to boost a starting five that struggled to match their regular season efficiency. Now returning home to play in front of what should be an electric home crowd, I like for the Timberwolves to get back on track led by a big night from either KAT or Anthony Edwards.

#2. Mavericks +6.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
Injuring his calf in the regular-season finale just inside two weeks ago, Mavs’ star Luka Doncic has yet to see the court this postseason. Even still against a healthy Jazz team, Dallas clawed their way to a game two win (110-104) as the series heads back to Utah.

For the Jazz, while former 2x Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert has been a force on that end, his struggles on offense continue to plague the team. With Doncic questionable tonight and a full participant in Wednesday practice, I expect him to see some minutes and for the Mavs to keep this game close as they have the past two.

#3. Warriors -2 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
While the Nuggets have been able to get to this point without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., indications so far point towards it being the end of the road. Even with Steph Curry coming off the bench in limited minutes, the Warriors have handled the Nuggets thus far winning the first two games of this series by a combined 36 points as Denver’s offense has been non-existent.

With Curry increasingly healthy as Jordan Poole has taken the reigns offensively for the Warriors, the brooms could very well be coming out with a win here tonight in Denver. While I expect a boost early, look for the Warriors to be too much once again with Murray and Porter Jr. still out of the lineup.
