Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Wednesday, April 6 (2022)

The last NBA Wednesday spot of the regular season is officially here, as the Nets and Knicks go at in the early slot, followed by the Suns and Clippers in the late spot. Both games have meaning in their respective conference playoff race, as do the other four games going around them.

Let’s take a closer look at three games I’m keyed in on for Wednesday’s slate.

1. Pistons +7.5 -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

The role of spoiler is one the Pistons have continued to embrace, coming into this game-winning three straight (3-0 ATS) and one of the best covering teams since the All-Star break (8-2 ATS in L10). For the Mavericks, they are firmly in the postseason and now just battling it out for seeding, as they come into tonight currently one game behind the Warriors for the third seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

While I think the Mavs have enough late to pull this one out, I like for the gritty Pistons to keep this one close yet again.

2. Hawks -10.5 |  -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Clinging to the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race, the Hawks are tied with the Nets and just 1.5 games behind the sinking Cavaliers. Winners of seven of their past 10 (7-3 ATS), the Hawks stumbled last night against the Raptors, losing 108-118 for their first defeat in six tries.

The Wizards, on the other hand, have essentially been eliminated from the playoffs since just after the All-Star break, as the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis coincided with Kyle Kuzma being ruled out for the season (knee). On the second of a back-to-back coming in from Minnesota last night, look for the Wizards to gas late and a motivated Hawks team to pull away in the 3rd and 4th.

 3. Clippers +3 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

While both the Suns (#1) and Clippers (#8) are both locked into their respective seeds in the Western Conference playoffs, the Clippers are still trying to build momentum heading into what is going to be a battle in the play-in tournament. As expected, the return of Paula George to the Clippers has been a welcomed one, as the team has won three of their past four (3-1 ATS) to cement their spot in postseason play.

Scoring 130.75 points over those four games, the Clippers’ offense has ascended to another level. For the Suns, the Western Conference has been locked up for weeks, and now just, their health remains on their mind. Look for a Suns team of mostly reserves late to give this one away.
