Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Wednesday, February 16th (2022)

We’re just a few days away from the NBA All-Star break as teams’ new additions are starting to filter into their starting rotations. Across the league, teams are starting the home stretch to wherever they might finish their 2021-22 regular season campaign.

Let’s take a closer look at a few such teams in action tonight.

1. Hawks -6 -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Only the Magic remain between the Hawks and a much-needed All-Star break, as John Collins continues to deal with an ankle injury that has cost him multiple games. The Hawks should get shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic in the lineup as he deals with an ankle injury, which I think should be enough against a reeling Magic squad.

Losers of three straight and five of their last six, the Magic are averaging just 102.6 points per loss over that stretch. With their only February wins coming against the Pacers and Trail Blazers, look for the Hawks to head into the break with an exclamation point and poised for a post-season run.

2. Bulls -6 |  -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Bulls saw some immediate love this morning after opening -5, moving to as high as -6.5 before setting in at -6 across the board. If DeMar DeRozan is his recent self, that shouldn’t be a problem. Entering tonight on a career-high seven-straight game of 30+ points, DeRozan is leading the way for a Bulls team on fire having won seven of their last 10 (7-3 ATS).

For the Kings, two straight wins were followed up by an 85-point performance on Monday in Brooklyn, as they failed to do much of anything offensively against a reeling Nets team.

 3. Rockets-Suns Under 234 | -110 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Entering tonight, the Suns are the #3 team in the league in defensive efficiency, allowing opposing teams just 105.2 points per game. In the two games they faced the Rockets in November, the Suns allowed just 100 points per game, or 8.2 less than the Rockets season average.

As for those Rockets, the worst defensive team in the league has been involved in some high totals as of late, but I think this one is too high given the Suns’ circumstances. On the second of a back-to-back and with the All-Star break starting this weekend, look for the Suns’ starters to be pulled late as they play possession throughout the fourth quarter and coast to a win and the under.
