Sunday’s Best WNBA Player Props & Bets: Sun vs. Mystics
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Marina Mabrey Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-108)
I was hesitant to take this one at first, even though Marina Mabrey has hit three or more three-pointers in four of her last six games. What made me pause? Well, she did go 1-for-8 from three-point range in the opener, and Washington has the second-best perimeter defense in the WNBA.
However, Marina made four threes against Minnesota, which has the No. 1 perimeter defense. As long as Mabrey gets her shots, she'll make at least three.
Kiki Iriafen Over 13.5 Points (+100)
Kiki Iriafen is averaging 14.9 points per game this season and has scored north of that number in three of her last four games (17, 20, 12, 16). In the first game versus the Sun, she scored 17 and pulled down 14 rebounds - and that was just her second game as a professional. Connecticut's offense has been hit or miss, but the Sun’s defense has been pretty bad (87.5 points per game allowed).
Iriafen has been doing a great job of finding open shots over the last few games and should be able to continue doing so against Connecticut.
Sonia Citron Under 13.5 Points (-128)
Sonia Citron is averaging 14 points per game, so going over 13.5 should come naturally, right? Eh... not necessarily. In the first four games of the season, she scored 19, 15, 10 and 19 points. But since then, she has cleared 13.5 points just once.
The big difference? It feels like she may be starting to take a back seat to Kiki Iriafen a little and is taking fewer shots. In three of her last five games, she attempted just eight shots.
