Top MLB Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (4/27)

Between the NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs and a full 15-game MLB slate, it’s another stacked Saturday in sports. I’m heading to the diamond for my sweats today, where I’ve narrowed in on three best bets in the MLB. Let’s have a profitable Saturday!

Saturday’s Best MLB Bets

(Odds courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook)

New York Yankees (-130) vs. Milwaukee Brewers (+110) | O/U 8.5 (-115/-105

The Yankees and Brewers played 11 innings in last night’s series opener. Milwaukee eventually secured the win in a 7-6 affair. The two sides are back at it tonight. We have a pitching matchup between Carlos Rodon and Joe Ross. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET from American Family Field in Milwaukee, WI.

Considering the Yankees have the more dependable starter taking the ball tonight, I’m going to ride with them to snap their two-game losing streak. Rodon has been sharp to start the new campaign, going 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over five starts in 26.2 innings. The southpaw is coming off a monster outing, blanking the Athletics over 7.0 innings, conceding only one hit and two walks.

Furthermore, Rodon has solid head-to-head numbers against the Brew Crew, limiting them to a slash line of .229/.308/.314 over 35 at-bats. He has allowed zero home runs, which is critical considering the Brewers are fourth in the league in homers (33). If he can keep the ball in the yard, Rodon should turn in a great outing, guiding his team to a victory. Finally, one strategy I constantly implemented last season was fading the Brewers against left-handed pitchers. In 2024, they’re ranked 28th in team batting average (.193) and 27th in OPS (.611) against left-handed pitchers. Let’s lay the juice with New York tonight.

Bet: New York Yankees Moneyline (-130

Tampa Bay Rays (-235) vs. Chicago White Sox (+192) | O/U 8.0 (-110/-110

It was a miracle on the Southside last night as the White Sox notched their fourth win of the year, snapping a seven-game skid. Chicago, who’s 4-22 on the year, will look to make it two in a row tonight when they send Jonathan Cannon to the mound. Tampa Bay counters with Aaron Civale in this American League clash set for 7:10 p.m. ET from Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, IL.

Last night’s final score was 9-4, marking the sixth game in Chicago’s last seven that featured at least nine runs. This total’s a little low, in my opinion, so I’m jumping on the over. Honestly, there’s a chance the Rays clear this total by themselves. They’ll take on 23-year-old Jonathan Cannon, who’s 0-1 over two starts (8.2 IP), posting a 7.27 ERA and 1.62 WHIP. Tampa has underperformed offensively, but this is a great chance for them to get things going against the right-handed Cannon.

As for the Sox, they’ll face a former American League Central foe in Aaron Civale. The current lineup has seen the right-hander well over 60 at-bats, slashing .317/.379/.533 with four home runs. Finally, it’s worth noting these bullpens have both been bottom-tier units this season. Tampa ranks 28th in bullpen ERA (5.38) and 25th in WHIP (1.46), while Chicago is 22nd (4.47) and 30th (1.54), respectively. There will be opportunities throughout the game for both offenses, so I’ll take the over.

Bet: Over 8.0 Runs (-110)

Philadelphia Phillies (+100) vs. San Diego Padres (-120) | O/U 7.5 (+100/-120

The Phillies launched five home runs en route to a 9-3 win in last night’s series opener with the Padres. Philly turns to Ranger Suarez tonight while San Diego opts for Dylan Cease. The first pitch is set for 8:40 p.m. ET from Petco Park in San Diego, CA.

Philadelphia is one of the hottest teams in the league, going 9-2 in their last 11 games. They’ll look for their third straight win tonight against a middle-of-the-pack Padres team that’s 14-15 to start the year. I’ll gladly take an even-money payout with the red-hot Phillies. Suarez has been incredible to start the new season, going 4-0 with a 1.36 ERA (seventh) and 0.70 WHIP (first). He has been arguably the best pitcher in baseball.

As for this specific matchup, the southpaw should be able to turn in another excellent outing. Suarez has held the current San Diego lineup to a slash line of .233/.283/.302 over 43 at-bats. Furthermore, the Friars have struggled against left-handed pitchers this season, ranking 24th in team batting average (.211) and 17th in OPS (.699) against lefties. Meanwhile, over the last 15 days, Philadelphia is ranked second in both home runs (19) and OPS (.801), while sitting in third in team batting average (.273). Let’s ride with the Fightin’ Phils tonight.

Bet: Philadelphia Phillies Moneyline (+100)
