Here is our top parlay pick for Monday, May 23.

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Colorado Rockies (+114) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (-134) O/U 8.5

(First Pitch 6:36 p.m. ET)

The Rockies come into this series struggling as they’ve lost ten of their last 13 overall and nine of their last ten on the road.

The lineup continues to be one of the best in the league as they are first in batting average (.265), third in wOBA (.329) fourth in slugging (.415). CJ Cron could be in the MVP conversation as he leads the NL with 11 home runs, third in RBI (32), and batting average (.329).

Unfortunately, the pitching has been the letdown, as they’re 28th in ERA (4.95) and 29th in WHIP (1.491). This pitching staff struggles from start to finish as their starters are 26th with a 4.89 ERA, and the relievers are last at 5.03.

They’ll send Chad Kuhl to the mound, who’s been struggling as he comes in with an 11.74 ERA in his last two starts. His pitches do not have much movement, mainly the knuckle-curve, which is getting crushed with a .334 wOBA and a hard-hit percentage of 42.9. As much as he would love to win a revenge game against his old team, it might be tough.

JT Brubaker will go against the Rockies, and in the little experience he has against this lineup, it’s been successful. In 23 plate appearances, they’re batting  .150 with a slugging percentage of .212. The Rockies are one of the worst teams against right-handers on the road as they’re batting just .179.

Leg 1: Pirates ML

Baltimore Orioles (+265) vs. New York Yankees (330) O/U 7.5

(First Pitch 7:06 p.m. ET)

The Yankees will take on the Orioles after taking three of four from them a week ago in Camden Yards. The last time Baltimore came to town, the Bronx Bombers were out in full force as they out they scored 27 runs in a three-game sweep.

Gerritt Cole will be on the mound for the Yanks as he’ll have back-to-back starts against the Orioles. In his last start in Camden Yards, he pitched a season-high seven innings allowing just earned runs in the win. The Struggles of his first three starts seem to be behind him as he’s 4-0 with a 1.67 ERA in his last five starts.

The most exciting part of the Orioles’ season is they finally called up the No. 1 prospect in baseball, catcher Adley Rutschman and he’ll get his first taste of playing the bright lights of Yankee Stadium. The big switch hitter catcher was the No. 1 overall pick in 2019 and has quickly risen through the farm system and was batting .309 before the call-up.

Jordan Lyles will start for the Orioles, and this will already be his fourth start against the Yankees this season. In his two home starts against New York, he pitched very well with a 2.23 ERA, but in the one road start, he allowed six earned in just 4.2 innings, including three home runs.

The Yankees have an excellent track record recently against the Orioles at home and should continue in this series.

Leg 2: Yankees -1.5 (-137)

Los Angeles Dodgers (-210) vs. Washington Nationals (+176) O/U 9

(First Pitch 7:06 p.m. ET)

The Dodgers have started off this road trip well as they took two of three against the Phillies and have won seven of their last eight. They are hands-down the best roster in baseball as their lineup produces the most runs (5.49), and the pitching staff has allowed the fewest (2.83 ERA).

Tyler Anderson comes in pitching very well as he’s allowed two or fewer earned runs in six of seven starts this season. This Nationals lineup doesn’t have much experience against Anderson except for Cesar Hernandez, who’s 6-for-12 off him, but this offense has struggled against righties all season. At home, the Nats are 29th with a .316 slugging percentage and 28th with a .208 batting average.

Joan Adon will go for the Nationals, and he’s been inconsistent all year. He’s pitched much better in May as he has a 4.73 ERA this month instead of 7.33 in April. He has an incredible curveball that bottoms out of the zone and a fastball that, when it’s working, he likes to elevate out of the zone; it’s when he stays over the plate that it gets lit up.

Adon’s best starts have come from struggling offenses like Arizona and Miami. The Dodgers are the complete opposite and should put up the runs against him.

Leg 3; Dodgers ML
