Top MLB Player Prop Odds & Picks for Friday, April 29 (2022)

Tonight’s Major League Baseball schedule features all 30 teams taking the field. There are a few intriguing series this weekend, including the Phillies taking on the Mets for three games. They’ll play seven games over the next 10 days as 4.0 games separates them in the N.L. East standings. The Astros head to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays for three games and the scorching hot Twins travel to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

Here are my top three player props that I’ll be locking in for tonight:

Odds courtesy of DraftKings

Alex Bregman O/U 0.5 Total Bases

The Astros open up a three-game set with the Blue Jays tonight in Toronto with first pitch scheduled for 7:07 ET. Houston will send Jose Urquidy to the mound as the Astros look for their fourth straight win while the Jays counter with Yusei Kikuchi.

Kikuchi has been surprisingly serviceable for Toronto in the early going this year, despite the Jays being on the losing end of all three of his starts. The left-hander is 0-1 on the year with a 3.75 ERA and 1.75 WHIP. Most recently, Kikuchi lasted 3.2 innings against the Astros on Sunday and allowed two earned runs on three hits and issued five walks.

Alex Bregman is batting .250 with three home runs and 12 RBI’s to start the new campaign. The star third baseman collected five hits over three games against Toronto in last week’s series. He’s also 6-17 against Kikuchi in the head-to-head category with three doubles and a home run. Toronto has one of the more hitter friendly parks in baseball, so all things considered, I like Bregman to record at least one total base tonight.

Bet: Alex Bregman Over 0.5 Total Bases (-185 via DraftKings)

Bo Bichette O/U 1.5 Total Bases

Let’s keep it in the same game for our second player prop of the day. Jose Urquidy gets the nod for the Astros in game one of the series. The right-hander is off to an underwhelming start in 2022, as he has posted a 5.52 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over three starts. Urquidy faced the Jays on Saturday and gave up two earned runs over 5.2 innings of work and allowed six hits.

Bo Bichette is hitting .212 through 20 games this year. He has two long balls and eight RBI’s with an OPS of .545 in 85 at-bats. The budding star has hits in five out of his last six games, including two out of the three against Houston last weekend. As for the head-to-head statistics, Bichette has faced Urquidy in nine at-bats and has three hits, including a home run. The team as a whole is slashing .313/.345/.522 against him, so look for the lineup to turn over often and Bichette will have plenty of opportunities to get to two total bases tonight.

Bet: Bo Bichette Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115 via DraftKings)

Franmil Reyes O/U 0.5 Total Bases

The Guardians are looking to snap their seven-game losing streak as they travel to Oakland to take on the A’s. First pitch is set for 9:40 ET at O.co Coliseum as Aaron Civale goes for Cleveland and Oakland opts for Frankie Montas.

Since the fire sale started in Oakland before the season, Frankie Montas’ name has been linked to an abundance of potential deals around the league. The burly right-hander is keeping his trade value high in the early going, posting a 2-2 record to go along with a 3.28 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. His WHIP is the seventh lowest in the league amongst qualified pitchers. Montas limited the Rangers to two earned runs over 7.1 innings pitched when he last took the mound. He allowed just three hits while striking out eight hitters and his 25 punchouts ranks 11th in the Majors.

Franmil Reyes hasn’t hit his stride yet this season. He’s hitting a measly .145 with two long balls and five RBI’s in 69 at-bats. Reyes is currently hitless over his last 18 at-bats, and hasn’t recorded a hit in any of his last five games. Montas has faced Reyes in just four at-bats, but he hasn’t allowed a hit and he has struck Reyes out twice. I like Montas’ current form, and I think he stifles Reyes at the plate tonight. Take the under on Franmil Reyes total bases.

Bet: Franmil Reyes Under 0.5 Total Bases (-110 via DraftKings)
