Top MLB Player Prop Odds & Picks for Saturday, April 16th (2022)

Today, we’re loaded with a full 15-game slate with plenty of betting options on the board. Below I’ve listed three player props that I’ll be locking in today!

We bounced back with a 2-1 day yesterday, but we’re still negative to start the season at 9-17. The $100 bettor is down $629.71 (-6.30 units) heading into today’s bets, but we’re going to keep clawing away at the deficit and turn the season around. There’s plenty of time to do so.

Jose Abreu O/U 1.5 Total Bases

The White Sox won yesterday’s series opener against the Rays in a 3-2 game on the southside. The teams return for game two this afternoon at 2:10 ET where Corey Kluber takes the mound for Tampa Bay while the White Sox turn to Michael Kopech.

This season, Corey Kluber has made one start and shut out the Orioles over 4.2 innings of work. He allowed three hits and walked four batters while striking out five. The right-hander could only get one ground ball compared to 11 fly balls.

The 2020 MVP, Jose Abreu, is off to a slow start to the new campaign. He’s hitting just .192 with only two RBI’s over 26 at-bats. Abreu’s still chasing his first home run of the season but has two doubles. Abreu has faced Kluber over 53 at-bats, and he’s posted a .340/.379/.698 slash line with four doubles and five home runs. The wind will be blowing out in Chicago this afternoon at around 12 mph, so I like Abreu to reach at least two total bases and possibly pick up his first big fly of the season.

Bet: Jose Abreu Over 1.5 Total Bases (+145 via DraftKings)

Corey Seager O/U 1.5 Total Bases

The Angels and Rangers have combined for 30 runs over the first two games of this four-game set in Arlington. Action resumes today at 7:05 ET, where Noah Syndergaard goes for the Halos and the Rangers counter with Taylor Hearn.

Noah Syndergaard shined in his Angels debut, shutting out the Astros over 5.1 innings of work last Saturday. He allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out one Astro. The right-hander has faced the current Texas roster in 14 at-bats, allowing eight hits. Out of those 14 ABs, 10 came against Corey Seager, and he’s 7-10 against Syndergaard with two doubles and a home run.

Seager is off to a nice start this season, hitting .333 with an OPS of .861. Seager has Syndergaard’s number, so look for him to collect at least two total bases tonight.

Bet: Corey Seager Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100 via DraftKings)

Aaron Judge O/U 1.5 Total Bases

The O’s won the series opener against the Yankees in extra innings last night in the 11th inning. New York and Baltimore are back today at 7:05 ET from Camden Yards, where Jameson Taillon starts for the Yanks and Tyler Wells toes the rubber for the Orioles.

Tyler Wells only lasted 1.2 innings in his first outing of the year on Sunday against the Rays. He allowed four earned runs over the span and gave up three hits and a pair of walks. Last season, the right-hander faced the Yankees in six relief appearances and limited them to a .167 batting average. The current roster has a slash line of .050/0.83/.075 over 21 at-bats, with Stanton and Torres each having a hit.

Around Judge is 0-4 against Wells in his career with a strikeout. I like Wells to stifle Judge in this game before handing it over to the fourth-ranked bullpen in terms of ERA at 2.08. Take the under on Aaron Judge’s total bases tonight.

Bet: Aaron Judge Under 1.5 Total Bases (-115 via DraftKings)
