Top MLB Player Prop Odds & Picks for Sunday, April 10th (2022)

We’re heading into a packed Sunday that sees a 15-game MLB slate ahead of us! Let’s narrow in on a few different prop bets that I like on today’s board.

Andrew Benintendi O/U 1.5 Total Bases

We’ll start at Kauffman Stadium where the Royals are looking to break out the brooms against the Guardians in the opening series. Cleveland sends Cal Quantrill to the mound while Kansas City counters with Kris Bubic.

Cal Quantrill is a right-hander who’s coming off of an 8-3 season with Cleveland where he posted a 2.89 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 2021. He saw his ERA rise to 3.75 away from Progressive Field and his WHIP went up to 1.35.

Andrew Benintendi has been swinging a hot bat out of the gate, slashing .500/.500/.500. He’s 4-8 on the season with four singles and an RBI. Benintendi has faced Quantrill 10 times in his career and is 5-10 with a double and a home run. They say that hitting is contagious in baseball so I like it when I see that the team has found success against Quantrill as well. The Royals have slashed .373/.405/.604 against the righty over an 82 at-bats. I like Benintendi to get plenty of opportunities to record a few hits today or reach two total bases with one swing of the bat.

Bet: Andrew Benintendi Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105 via DraftKings)

Marcus Stroman O/U 4.5 Hits Allowed

The Cubs are looking for the sweep against the Brewers on opening weekend after winning 5-4 on Thursday and 9-0 yesterday. Marcus Stroman will get the start for Chicago and make his debut in a Cubs uniform while Milwaukee will go with Freddy Peralta.

Stroman was with the Mets in 2021 and posted a 10-13 record with a 3.02 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. Despite a successful season with New York last year, Stroman hasn’t been sharp against the current Brewers lineup. The Crew has slashed .320/.312/.456 against the right-hander over 38 at-bats. Willy Adames is 4-6 with a home run while Andrew McCutchen is 3-7 with a double. I think Stroman will have a successful outing, but I expect the Brewers to put together some offense along the way and reach five hits. Look for a sense of urgency from Milwaukee as they definitely don’t want to depart the Friendly Confines chasing three games in the standings.

Bet: Marcus Stroman Over 4.5 Hits Allowed (-110 via DraftKings)

Jason Heyward O/U 0.5 Total Bases

We’ll keep it in the same game and switch the focus to the Brewers pitching and Cubs offense. Freddy Peralta will make his first start of the season and he had a very successful 2021 campaign. He went 10-5 with a 2.81 ERA and 0.97 WHIP over 27 starts last season. He was a dependable arm at Wrigley Field last year, going 2-0 over three starts and striking out 23 hitters in 14.1 innings of work.

As for Jason Heyward, he slashed .214/.280/.347 in 2021 with just 69 hits over 323 at-bats. Looking at the head-to-head numbers, we see Heyward is 1-12 against Freddy Peralta in his career. I like Freddy Peralta to handle Heyward with ease when he steps up to the plate this afternoon. Additionally, the Brewers still boast one of the best bullpens in the league with Brad Boxburger, Devin Williams, and Josh Hader. The pen should be able to suppress the Cubs offense later in the game, including Heyward. Take the under on 0.5 total bases for the Cubs outfielder.

Bet: Jason Heyward Under 0.5 Total Bases (-115 via DraftKings)
