Top NBA Betting Pick for Tuesday, September 22nd

The NBA playoffs have been quite the treat. We got Monday off to watch the NFL, but NBA basketball is back on Tuesday night. The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to win a decisive Game 3 that could very well decide the outcome of the series. Many already have the Lakers in the NBA Finals, but we have seen enough miraculous play from the Nuggets to know that counting them out is ill-advised. They were just an incredible Antony Davis buzzer-beater away from tying this series one game apiece, so it is not yet time to throw in the towel. As expected, the Conference Finals have been a disaster for our percentages. We finally got back in the winning column on Sunday, and now sit a disappointing 33-25 on the postseason.

Here is my top NBA betting play for September 22nd, 2020. You can also check out our daily NBA consensus game odds here.

Anthony Davis over 27.5 points (-120)

  • Averaged 26.1 points per game during the regular season
  • Averaged 29.3 points per game versus Denver in four games during the regular season
  • Averaging 34 points per game in this series
  • Averaging 28.7 points per game in the postseason
  • Over in three of his last four contests

Anthony Davis hit a sensational three-pointer to give the Los Angeles Lakers a 2-0 series lead and looks to be playing some of his best basketball as a Laker. Add in the fact that he is performing on a good team, in the grind that is the NBA Playoffs, in the Western Conference Finals no less, and we may be seeing peak Anthony Davis. Davis shows no signs of slowing down, and LeBron no doubt knows that feeding his big man is the path to a Game 3 victory. Davis has been elite against Denver all season, averaging 29.3 points per game against them during the regular season, and now putting up 34 points per game against them in the playoffs.

‘The Brow’ stepped up his play in the postseason as a whole, bumping his excellent 26.1 points per game season average up to an elite 28.7 points per game average during the playoffs. The 27.5 line at BetMGM was set to avoid getting slammed on the under, but the juice shows that the action has still overwhelmingly been on the over, or that sharp action on the over has moved the juice. The over is indeed the sharp, and the smart play here, but we will be keeping to one unit to avoid unnecessary disappointment in what should be an exciting contest.

Pick: Over 27.5 points (-120)
