Top NBA Betting Picks for Saturday, April 10

The NBA has given us an intriguing seven-game slate for Saturday night, but the would-be marquee game nationally televised on ABC has lost some serious star power. We will still get what is expected to be an NBA Finals preview, but without LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and James Harden, the contest will be of more interest to those who have some action as opposed to those who do not. Five of tonight’s contests will have double-digit spreads, with another currently sitting at nine.

Here are the top NBA betting plays for Saturday, April 10, provided by BettingPros experts Raju Byfield and Isaiah Sirois (Main game odds courtesy BettingPros Consensus; lock and prop odds sites may vary):

Betting Lock of the Day

Byfield: Cavaliers +3.5 (-110 at FD Sportsbook)
The Toronto Raptors are set to be short-handed once again, with Fred VanVleet out and Kyle Lowry questionable and expected to be limited if he does manage to play. This should allow the Cavs explosive and potent backcourt duo of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland to torch the dinos at will. Toronto is headed for the lottery and will be facing a team much more talented than their record suggests. Cleveland will be without Jarrett Allen and Larry Nance Jr., but against a big man deficient Raptors team, Kevin Love, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Taurean Prince should be more than enough.

Top Team Prop of the Day

Byfield: Nets First Half Over 59.5 points (-108 at FD Sportsbook)
After a 79 point first half explosion against the New Orleans Pelicans, even the casual bettor will be looking for the Nets first half over to hit. This has resulted in the sharps tapping the under for this contest. However, at just 59.5 points, the Nets will have to manage an average of just 30 points per quarter against a Los Angeles Lakers team down their best scorers and defenders. The sharps may be on to something, but the probability lies with the Nets being to score at least 60 first half points before slowing down in the second half if the game is out of hand. Brooklyn averages 59.8 first half points per game on the season, making them a strong value at FanDuel.

Top Player Prop of the Day

Byfield: Collin Sexton Over 24.5 Points (-116 at FD Sportsbook)
C
ollin Sexton has become a true star in the NBA. The combo guard is averaging 24 points per game on a robust .480 shooting from the field. Sexton has been even better at home this season, bumping his scoring average to 25.6 points, but the most notable difference is his elite stroke from deep when playing at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Sexton already flashed his wares against the Raptors this season, dropping 36 points, and will be facing a team that may need to start rookie Malachi Flynn due to FVV being ruled out and Lowry looking like a game-time decision who will be limited if available. The juice on this prop will rise by game time, so lock this one in now to avoid getting stuck with less favorable odds.
