Top NBA Betting Picks for Saturday, February 27

Saturday night gives us an intriguing seven game slate. While there are no true marquee matchups to speak of, the night’s final contest between the Brooklyn Nets and the Dallas Mavericks will feature three of the most talented players in the league. If Luka Doncic can get it going from the field, it could quickly turn into one of the games of the week. There are four consensus spread plays from our experts and five consensus over/under’s. Let’s dig in.

Here are the top NBA betting plays for Saturday, February 27, provided by BettingPros experts Raju Byfield and Isaiah Sirois (Main game odds courtesy BettingPros Consensus; lock and prop odds sites may vary):

Betting Locks of the Day

Byfield: Nets -4 (-110 at FD Sportsbook)
The Brooklyn Nets have been rolling despite Kevin Durant being sidelined, and that does not figure to change against a struggling Dallas Mavericks team. Kyrie Irving and James Harden have figured out how to play together, and it has resulted in an eight game winning streak. Dallas has been more respectable in their last 10 contests but does not have the goods to stay competitive with a powerhouse like the Nets. Luka can always get hot and keep it close for most of the game, but when crunch time hits, the Mavs have no one to go to when Luka has lost his confidence from the perimeter. The Mavs may take first quarter and first half, but the Nets are the play for the full game spread at FanDuel.

Top Team Props of the Day

Byfield: Nuggets 1st Quarter -2.5 (-104 at FD Sportsbook)
The Denver Nuggets are the hottest first quarter team in the NBA and come into this contest with a +3.8 average scoring margin. Oklahoma City, on the other hand, has been one of the worst in the league in terms of first quarter margin, sitting tied for fifth-worst in the league at -2.5. They have averaged just 26.3 first quarter points (third-worst), while the Nuggets have averaged a robust 31.2 (second best). Don’t overthink this one; tap the Nuggets for one unit.

Top Player Props of the Day

Byfield: Nikola Jokic over 25.5 points (–112 at FD Sportsbook)
The Joker has been held under 25 points in three of his last four contests and managed just 23 points against the Thunder earlier this month. Jokic is averaging 26.9 on the season, but that is largely due to scoring outbursts (three 40 point games, one 50) as opposed to consistently hitting in the 26 to 27 point range. He did drop 27 on the Thunder last month but has fallen under 25 in over half of his February contests. Take the under on Jokic but keep it to one unit at FanDuel.
