March Madness is in full swing, and perhaps as a result, we have a relatively light and uninspiring five game slate on Saturday. While the contests themselves are not appointment television like that of their NCAA counterparts, the entire slate offers intriguing betting angles to attack.

Betting Lock of the Day

Byfield: Grizzlies -5.5 (-114 at FD Sportsbook)
Memphis has already proved that they can topple some of the NBA’s best and will need to keep the same energy when taking on a depleted Golden State Warriors squad down Steph Curry, James Wiseman, Eric Paschall, and of course, Klay Thompson. The Warriors still have talent on the floor so Memphis will need to take this game seriously, both to avoid the upset and to cover a spread that looks like it will grow by game time. The Grizzlies come into this contest relatively healthy (aside from Jaren Jackson Jr.) and will be looking for revenge for last night’s embarrassment at the hands of Andrew Wiggins’ season-high 40 points. They will need Ja Morant and Kyle Anderson to take care of the ball, and will also need to shoot a much better clip from three, but the Grizzlies are the smart play despite last night’s loss.

Top Team Prop of the Day

Byfield: Warriors-Grizzlies 1st Quarter Over 55.5 points (-125 at FD Sportsbook)
The Warriors and Grizzlies combined for 61 first quarter points just last night and are a good bet to do so once again. The teams will need to combine to average just 25.5 points to hit the over and come into this contest averaging a combined 56.2 on the season. Even with the Warriors dropping back down from 34 points to their season average of 28.4 points, the first quarter should still go over. Keep it to one unit, but as the juice no doubt accentuates, this is one of the hottest team props on the board.

Top Player Prop of the Day

Byfield: Andrew Wiggins Over 21.5 points (-108 at FD Sportsbook)
Andrew Wiggins is fresh off a 40 point outing, and should once again get all the volume he can handle for the depleted Warriors. Draymond is focusing on playmaking, Kelly Oubre Jr. is still trying to find his footing, and Damion Lee cannot be relied upon for consistent production. What this means is that Wiggins will have a tremendous opportunity to see 20 or more shot attempts for the night. He will need to stay aggressive as far as getting to the stripe and will need to avoid one of his signature inefficient nights from the field, but as far as this 21.5 point prop is concerned, volume is king. Wiggins should see more than 21 shots tonight, so hitting 22 points to click should be well within reach.
