Betting Lock of the Day
Sirois: Knicks -10.5 (-108 at FD Sportsbook)
The Rockets are laughably bad at home. They have gone just 8-25 ATS in Houston, the worst home ATS record in the NBA. Meanwhile, the Knicks are hot, and theyâve gone 19-11 ATS on the road. Thatâs good for the second-best such rate in the NBA. While this spread is quite wide, Houston just lost to the Warriors at home by a 26-point margin, and Golden State has been much less efficient than New York. Houston just doesnât have the personnel to cover this spread, with John Wall, Eric Gordon, Danuel House, and Sterling Brown all sidelined.
Top Game Prop of the Day
Sirois: Knicks First Half -6.5 (-110 at FD Sportsbook)
If you donât want to bet on the full-game spread, New York has been a rock-solid first-half team. They surrender the fewest points per first half (52.3), and though they score the sixth-fewest points per first half (54.7), thatâs partially because they play at the NBAâs second-slowest pace. Also, the Rockets arenât a great first-half offense â they score the ninth-fewest points per first half despite playing at the NBAâs fifth-fastest pace. The Rockets also allow the fourth-most points per first half (60), so look for the Knicks to get out to a decent lead early in Sundayâs contest.
Top Player Prop of the Day
Sirois: Marcus Smart Over 14.5 Points (-108 at FD Sportsbook)
With Kemba Walker still on the sidelines, Smart will line up against one of the NBAâs worst defenders: Damian Lillard. The Trail Blazers give up the third-most points per game to opposing point guards (25.6), and even though Smart spends 54% of his minutes at shooting guard, Walkerâs injury should have him back at the one. Although Smart failed to beat this total in Bostonâs last two games without Walker, he came close to doing so in both games, and the easy matchup should be enough to push him over the edge.
