Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs
The NBA schedule is light on Saturday, with only four games in action. The Lakers and Spurs square off, and it’s a game worth targeting for first baskets.
The Lakers have continued to struggle but have been pretty successful in scoring the first field goal. They’ve managed this feat in 56.3% of their games on the year and have been fairly consistent throughout the season.
Two of the Lakers that have been most successful with this prop in the early season are Anthony Davis and Lonnie Walker. I’m looking to back both of them in this spot. The Spurs are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, and the Lakers will have mismatch advantages all over the floor.
Davis provides a mismatch for most teams that he faces, particularly when it comes to First Basket props. He’s scored the first Laker basket in six of 16 contests on the season, four of which cashed a First Basket prop. His size and shooting ability make him a threat to score at any location on the court.
Lonnie Walker is the other Laker I’m looking to target. He’s really been coming on for a Laker team that has been searching for offensive contributors. Walker has cashed this prop twice in the last ten games and four times on the season. He’s a hot hand I’ll be looking to ride in this matchup.
