Milwaukee Bucks at Philadelphia 76ers

When the league scheduled this game they likely had a Giannis and Embiid matchup in mind. Unfortunately, the 76ers are without Embiid who is out with injury. Philadelphia has struggled a bit since his departure as well.

Since Embiid went out, Philadelphia has compiled only a 4-9 SU record and 5-8 ATS. The biggest struggle for the 76ers has been on the defensive end where they are giving up 118.6 PPG with Embiid out of the lineup. They’ll have their hands full with the fifth-ranked adjusted offensive rated team in Milwaukee. The Bucks love getting to the free throw line, and Philadelphia loves to send teams there. If Milwaukee is hitting their free throws on Sunday, Philadelphia will have a tough time slowing them down.

One of the reasons the line sits where it is has to do with the way the Bucks have struggled since Doc Rivers took over as head coach. Milwaukee is 4-7 both SU and ATS since the coaching change, but an impressive win at Minnesota on Friday night shows that they may be turning a corner. The recent slide by the Bucks is preventing this line from being higher and I think we’re getting peak Milwaukee value in a game where they’re better than an undermanned 76ers team.

Pick: Bucks -4.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns

The Lakers and Suns square off in the final regular season matchup between these two star-studded teams. The Lakers find themselves in the thick of the playoff hunt while the Suns have a bit more breathing room. The home team is rightfully favored in this game, but is there still value on the underdog?

Los Angeles has had it’s fair share of struggles. They haven’t lived up to the strong defensive team they were in the second half of the 2022-23 season, but it’s the offense that has been the concern most of the year. They rank just 18th in adjusted offensive efficiency and have turned the ball over and rebounded offensively at below-league-average rates. However, they seem to have turned a bit of a corner in the month of February. In addition to compiling a 7-2 SU record, they’ve torched the nets with 121.3 PPG, a good four points better than their season average.

For Phoenix, they’ll be without Bradley Beal. This is a big deal because his return to the lineup in December coincided with the Suns playing their best ball of the year. They’ve come out of the All-Star break stumbling, dropping both of their contests. Going up against a motivated and hot Los Angeles team could be a tough test after back-to-back games on the road.

The Lakers might be gearing up for the stretch run and are undervalued in this nationally televised matchup with the Suns. It’s tough to bet against LeBron and company when playing under the bright lights of a marquee matchup. I like them to cover on the road against an undermanned Suns team.

Pick: Lakers +4 (-115)

Dallas Mavericks at Indiana Pacers

No team in the NBA is hotter that’s the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs are winners of seven straight and traveling to Indiana on Sunday for a matchup between two of the most exciting offenses in the league.

Dallas is led by the two-headed monster of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. They’ve produced the sixth-ranked offense per adjusted offensive rating. They’ve been a top-ten shooting team and exceptional at taking care of the ball with a third-ranked turnover percentage. However, it’s an improved defense that has catapulted this recent run as Dallas has allowed just 105.4 PPG during this run. They’ll need every bit of this defensive prowess to slow down Indiana’s potent offense.

As effective as Indiana has been on offense, their defense has been a problem, especially against top offenses. Against these other top six adjusted offenses in the league, the Pacers have given up a putrid 128.8 PPG. If they can’t slow down this Dallas attack, they’ll have a tough time keeping up against a defense that is shaping into a real contender.

Pick: Mavericks -1 (-108)
