Washington Capitals +108) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (-125)
Tuesday brings us another epic showdown between Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin. These two teams met Sunday, resulting in a 6-3 victory for Pittsburgh. While that may look like a trouncing on paper, the game was much tighter, as the Penguins added two empty-net goals late in the final frame.
The Capitals will simultaneously look to solve their Eastern Conference foe and end a four-game losing streak. This team has battled their fair share of adversity, dealing with COVID protocols and a myriad of injuries. However, this is a great spot for them to turn things around.
Let’s take a look at Sunday’s game metrics 5v5:

Washington held the slightest advantage in possession while nearly doubling Pittsburgh in high danger scoring chances and were expected to score more goals. I believe we’ll see them come out on top in this one.

Colorado Avalanche (-105) vs. Vegas Golden Knights (-112)
Colorado returned to action after nearly two weeks off due to COVID-related issues. Playing the Golden Knights after such a long layoff is less than ideal; however, they played a great game considering their conditioning was less than optimal.
The game was an under bettors’ dream, ending 1-0 after stellar performances in net by Philipp Grubauer and Marc-Andre Fleury.
From a 5v5 metrics perspective, the Avs deserved better in this one.

Colorado dominated possession and, if you watched this game, really pushed the pace. If not for Fleury’s dominant performance, they win that game more times than not. I’ll trust the analytics and anticipate they’ll have their legs back in this one.
