Top NHL GIFT & Anytime Goal Scorer Prop Bet Picks: Friday (12/27)
Betting the GIFT (Goal In First Ten) is simple. Pick whether or not a game will have a goal scored in the first 10 minutes of play (00:00-09:59). It's that easy and all you have to do is root for anyone to score and you win. It is one area of hockey betting with a high success rate league-wide, with over 81% of the league currently cashing at 50% or better this season. By the end of the season, that number should be even closer to 90% meaning there is still plenty of money left to be made from GIFTs this season.
Anytime Goal Scorer props are even easier. Pick a player to score and if they light the lamp at any point, you win!
My published picks are 31-11 (.738) since Nov. 23, including a stellar 15-1 (.938) record cashing GIFTs and a 16-10 (.615) record on ATGs. Let’s roll!

Maple Leafs at Detroit Red Wings
The Maple Leafs will roll out Joseph Woll to tend the twine. The 26-year-old St. Louis native is 9-6-0, carrying a 2.61 GAA and a .908 Save% this season. Toronto is 20-15 cashing the GIFT this season, with 10 cashes in 15 games (.667) away from Scotiabank Arena. The GIFT is 4-1 in the Leafs’ last five contests and is 7-3 in their last 10.
On the opposite end of the rink, Detroit will send out Cam Talbot to guard the crease. The 37-year-old Canadian is 6-8-2, carrying a 2.79 GAA and a .912 Save% this season. The Red Wings are 20-14 cashing the GIFT this season with 11 cashes on the friendly Little Caesars Arena ice. The Wings have cashed the GIFT in four of their last five games and are 6-4 in their last 10.
These teams’ combined 40-29 record (.580) cashing the GIFT this season including a 21-11 record (.656) in these home/road conditions means the lamp should be burning in a scoring inferno early tonight in Motown.
